NVIDIA next-gen graphics cards a big hit to AMD

New rumors suggest that NVIDIA is preparing to launch new Ampere graphics cards with the NVIDIA RTX 3000 series. The latest information says that NVIDIA will launch three new graphics cards in September, followed by another in October and the last two of this line, the presentation of which is not known when it will take place.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The big news is NVIDIA’s most powerful new graphics card which will succeed the RTX 2080 Ti with 24GB vRAM. Such an amount of memory can only be rivaled by the super expensive RTX Titan graphics card but on the other hand, thwarts any attempt by AMD to compete with the new Navi graphics which have no more than 16GB vRAM.

The RTX 3080 will come with 24GB of vRAM and a 384-bit bus. The RTX 2080 Super will be replaced by the RTX 3080 with 10GB vRAM and debuts in mid-September. The graphics card that will come in October has 20GB of vRAM. Finally, the two remaining graphics cards will replace the RTX 2070 Super with 8GB and 16GB vRAM.

40% of Android smartphones exposed of spying and data theft

Security researchers at Check Point have found a full 400 security issues in various parts of the code used by the digital signal processor (DSP) on Snapdragon mobile processors. Snapdragon is a chip system that contains several components from the processor, graphics to DSP. The latter is used for several reasons ranging from charging to video and audio recording, augmented reality, and other multimedia functions.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Phone manufacturers can use DSP for dedicated applications that enable certain features. The chip is implemented in at least 40% of smartphones worldwide including high-end devices from Google, OnePlus, and Samsung.

Check Point says hackers can exploit security issues in three ways:

  • Spy. The Android phone can be turned into a spying device and above all, no user intervention is required. Photos are copied, calls are recorded, location is exposed and the microphone is spied.
  • Data Theft. It can be performed in complete silence without the knowledge of the user and can not even be removed by the latter.
  • Phone Damage. The smartphone can be rendered unusable by totally rendering it out of function.

All that is needed according to Check Point is for a hacker to install an application on the victim’s device. The problems were all approved by Qualcomm and given the CVE designations as follows: CVE-2020-11201, CVE-2020-11202, CVE-2020-11206, CVE-2020-11207, CVE-2020-11208 and CVE-2020- 11209.

The chipmaker Snapdragon has notified all smartphone makers and addressed all the problems. All those who have not received the security updates remain exposed. Experts say it will take months maybe years until all Android smartphone users are safe. Check Point did not publish the technical details of the problems to prevent attackers from taking full advantage of them.

Users have no choice but to wait for companies to update their smartphones. Although Qualcomm has released the update, no Android phone has it incorporated yet.

Low-Spec Open-World PC Games

5 Low-Spec Open-World PC Games

For all of you who have a PC system

The open-world gaming genre in 2020 has been created as one of the most popular genres in all games. The genre has been home to some of the most successful games of the last decade. These are some of the best open-world low-specs requirement PC games that can run on computers with 2 GB of RAM.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

However, slowly it is repeating itself and becoming more boring, with each new release trying to incorporate elements of the open-world genre. However, the cream always rises to the top (if you do not know as a reference ask moms), and the best games eventually find an audience sooner or later.

These are 5 Low-Spec Open-World PC Games

#5. Just Cause 2

If the gaming industry were to award for ‘Highest Number of Explosions Per Minute’, then the Just Cause series would easily receive the award every year. Games have evolved in size, scale, and, most importantly, more things to blow up. The original game was received relatively well, but it was the sequel Just Cause 2 that took the franchise to a new level and made it a series of the genre that is just as popular as it is today.

#4. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher books have created not only a great Netflix show but most importantly, a gaming trilogy that is now considered among the best. The Witcher series evolved with each game being better than the previous one, and the sequel is the prime example of how the Project Red CD is growing by leaps and bounds. The Witcher 2 campaign is delightful, with player decisions and choices that bring real consequences to the story and outcome of the game.

#3. The Saboteur

One of the most overlooked games of the last decade that has slowly turned into a cult after all these years, The Saboteur is a really great game with lots of original ideas. The game puts you in France as an Irish freedom fighter who is working to get rid of the Nazi occupation in Paris. The game uses color to underline parts of the city that are uneven and gives an incredibly engaging experience.

#2. Assassin’s Creed II

Speaking of games with impressive sequels, Assassin’s Creed II is considered one of the best gaming sequences in history. The game founded Assassin’s Creed as a classic genre and one of the most fun open-world experiences of its time. Real-life historical events have always been a strong aspect of the series.

#1. Mafia II

Mafia II has an open world, but not at the level of GTA games. From snow-covered roads in winter or bright red Hot Rods, the Mafia II world feels authentic and never manages to bring a smile to your face. Anyone who has ever watched Goodfellas has only dreamed of playing a game like Mafia II. The game puts you in control of Vito, a future member of the Italian mafia. It tells an extremely heartfelt story, the ending of which has become quite famous in the world of video games.

Should your calculator be in radians or degrees for physics?

Radian and degree are units that are all about measuring angles. Angles are everywhere around you for example when you throw a stone in a water pond or when light falls on the mirror and you observe scattering rays. It is where the concept of measuring angles came in. As far as the unit of measuring angle is concerned, in geometry, the mathematicians took the start with a degree to measure the angles for the very first time. The basis for calculating the angle of measurement is the 360 degrees of a circle.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Why use radian instead of degrees in physics?

A degree is a measure of an angle equals to 360 degrees in a full rotation and expresses its direction. Representing symbol for degree is ͦ. For example, the 90 degree is the right angle. But limitations of degree measurement require another circular measurement unit that is called radian. These limitations include

  • Usually, degree measurements engage with large numbers so, they make measurements a bit difficult.
  • The use of degrees is only applicable at school levels for simple mathematics.

So, there is another unit of measuring angle in pure mathematics, physics and calculus which is called radian. This unit is used in the higher and advanced level of studies where calculations engage with small numbers. Moreover, it is a much easy, reliable and convenient way to calculate the angles as compared to the degree.

Radian is a plane angle between two radii of a circle that cut off on the circumference an arc, equals to the length of the radius. In simple words, the angle subtended at the center of a circle by an arc is equal in length to the radius is 1 radian. Just as 360 degrees make one circle, 180 degrees make one pi radian and a complete circle is equals to 2 pi radian.

So, we can say that degree and radian are both different units, but they are used to measure the same quantity, angular displacements. However, radian is extensively used for angle measurement in physics, advanced mathematics, geometry and calculus.

Radian and degree calculations by using calculators

As we have discussed that radian and degree are two important units regarding angular displacement. It works the same as kilograms kg and pounds lbs are used for measuring the weight of a body.

When you are dealing with certain queries in physics about the measurement of angles, either in degrees or radian. Here, Calculators can also help you because, almost all the calculators have both modes already. Other than the manual calculators, many online available calculator websites such as Meracalculator, calculator.net and calculators.tech are available as well. As we, already have mentioned, a complete circle is 360° in the degree system, but, when we take this in radians, a complete circle is about 2π. This indicates that a quarter circle equals to 90° (in degrees) but it is also π/2 in radians.

For example, if, you put sin 60 in your calculator, first, you will indicate whether it is 60° or 60 radians, and this completely relies on the information that you are given with.

As, in this case 60°, the sin 60° would be 0.85.

But the sin of 60 in radians is about 1.0472.

When should you use radian or degree mode on your calculator?

In physics, mostly we deal with questions that requires change from degree to radian and vice versa. In particularly, we use radian for rotational equation motions.

Above, you have clearly observed that you can evaluate the angle measurements simply by using a manual or online calculator. Here, the question is when do you change your calculators to degree mode and radian mode? Quite simple. It’s totally up to the information in the question you are provided with. All you have to do is making sure that your calculator is in proper mode depending upon the given problem.

The best example to explain this confusion is;

If you need to measure cos(x) and

where x=60°, then you will use DAG mode because given question telling you the angle is in degrees unit.

If you are solving a question whose value is given in the radian symbol π, then you will use the RAD mode of the calculator.

How to change the settings in calculators to degree and radian mode?

Most of the time, you see your calculator in standard or normal mode, unless you are concerned with geometrical problems in physics related to angle measurements. Therefore, putting your scientific calculator (either you have manual one or using online) to degree or radian mode is the first vital step to perform the given operations. The following steps you should take to change the mode of your scientific calculator.

Change calculator mode to radian and degree mode

These are the following steps to change your scientific calculator to degree and radian mode:

Step 1.

Press [MODE] key that lie at the top right corner, the calculator will show you all the provided modes. Then go to RADIAN mode or DEGREE mode according to the requirements, and then you will press [ENTER].

Step 2.

Your calculator is now on your selected mode.

Step 3.

Enter the given value in question.

Step 4.

The answer will be on your screen, no need to change it further to convert them in radian or degree, calculator already did this for you.

This method of putting calculators on different modes also helps you when you are using a scientific calculator tool on an online website, the procedure is, all the same, you just have to change the modes given on your computer screens by just simple clicking.

Conclusion:

We cannot say that you should use radian mode in physics all the time, although radian is quite preferable choice but technically speaking, it is completely depending upon the physical or trigonometrical operations you are interpreting. And in case, if the situation is not specified in question neither radian nor degree then you should definitely go to the radian mode option as it is more reliable.
