How To Boost Brain Power With Nutrition

Decades have passed since evidence about what our food choices do to our organs was brought forth and accepted throughout major medical institutions. With that research, multiple health groups formulated recommended daily allowances and other ways to advise people how to eat for health. Now, we’re learning that nutrition also affects the brain.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Research is proving again and again that healthy diets with wholesome nutrition can enhance brain performance and function. Since diets can affect blood sugar, hormones, cholesterol, blood pressure, stroke, and the cardiovascular system, it’s no surprise that the brain can also be influenced by the food we consume. So, if you have been looking for diets that can increase your brain power, then you are in luck.

Studies on the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension), MIND (Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay) and Mediterranean diets have found the foods that boost brain power. Let’s have a look.

Healthy Fats

Did you know that the brain is comprised of about 70% fat? Our bodies and brains cannot survive without the right amount of fat—but it has to be the correct kind. The fats that our brains thrive on are omega 3 fatty acids, an essential fat that aids in the building of brain tissue. That is why prenatal vitamins often contain DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), an omega 3 that is present in fish like salmon. You can also find another kind of omega 3s in ground flaxseed, chia, walnuts, and other similar plant and seed sources. Olive oil, avocados, nut butters, eggs, and the like are also great sources.

To improve brain power, focus on omega 3 fatty acids and reduce your intake of saturated fats. Humans need some saturated fat, but Canadians sometimes eat too much.

Lastly, avoid trans fats, also seen as partially hydrogenated oils. Be out the look out for mono- and di-glycerides in the ingredient list, too. Those have replaced trans fats in many commercially packaged items, like snack bars, cookies, pastries, and crackers. Avoid fried foods, because those kinds of foods can cause fat to oxidize and lead to health problems.

Lean Proteins

The DASH, MIND, and Mediterranean diets all focus on lean protein, such as wild-caught fish, poultry, eggs, and plant-based sources like nuts, soy, and legumes. You need protein to create the neurotransmitters that send messages from your brain throughout the body and brain. Protein is also necessary for the musculoskeletal system.

One of the best bioavailable proteins would be the egg. Yes, eggs have a bad reputation for being high in cholesterol, but studies have proven that eggs have little impact on your cholesterol levels. Don’t skip the yolk, because you would be missing one of the richest sources of choline available. Choline is an essential nutrient required for appropriate brain function. Mothers-to-be need even more choline for their babies.

Choline is also present in peanuts, beans, spinach, and cauliflower.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_5″ tdc_css=””]

Carbohydrates

The brain might be comprised of fats, but it loves carbs too. Of course, too much sugar is a bad thing, and the brain can become easily addicted to the wrong type of carbohydrates. You will notice that the top diets for brain health, such as the Mediterranean diet, do not focus on too much carbohydrates, but they do included whole grains and sprouted grains, otherwise known as “complex carbohydrates.” These carbs are excellent sources of antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients that you need to survive. Complex carbohydrates also take a longer time to digest, ensuring your brain and body have a continuous supply of energy.

Avoid processed carbs like baked goods, cookies, pretzels, white flour crackers and breads, and similar items. These are nutritionally devoid and will cause your blood glucose to spike. You might feel a rush of energy for a little while, but your brain will use that energy too quick and your batteries will drain rapidly afterwards.

Make The Right Choices For Brain Power

The main takeaway from this is that you need to balance your nutrition. The analogy that the body is like a car that deserves quality fuel also applies to the brain. Without nutrient-rich energy sources, the brain will struggle to meet the demands of your life. You will feel lethargic and lack energy, and you might be unable to process information. By adding more nutritious sources into your diet, you can empower yourself to achieve everything you’ve set out to!

Why are our smartphones so good, but the batteries are so bad?

Why are our smartphones so good, but the batteries are so bad?

Even with the largest batteries and external battery packs, the most modern smartphones have a lot of work to do at the end of the day, while the best devices can barely spend two days without charging.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Before, the phones had a longer battery life, which lasted a few days without the need for charging. Our smartphones are more powerful than, for example, the Nokia 3310, but why are the batteries not so powerful?

According to Venkat Srinivasan, an expert in battery technology, the explanation is very simple. Moore’s law has left battery technology behind, which means that our phones have improved, and require more power at a higher rate than the advancements made in the batteries.

This does not mean that there have been no improvements. Energy density has been increasing steadily over the last few years while internal components have declined. The rechargeable batteries we use today in phones are based on lithium cobalt, a technology that has been in use since the 1990s, and we have reached the maximum energy we can get from it.

There is hope for the future as researchers are looking for a new battery technology, such as solid batteries, that can open doors for more material to boost battery power. Yes, there is a cake, as at the time of using these batteries, the phones of the future will have advanced even more and you may need more power to hold the charge more than a day.

Samsung will launch the second foldable phone, before Huawei

Korea Herald quoted for The Investor the Samsung‘s plan to launch multiple folding devices, including a phone that unfolds outside.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

After criticizing for the form, it looks as though Samsung is not only supporting it, but the report suggests that this Samsung phone – the second folding device behind Galaxy Fold – will arrive before Huawei launches Mate X.

Galaxy Fold has not yet launched, although it is ready for the market, but Samsung promises it will not affect the launch of the Note 10.

Huawei Mate X has been delayed due to the late launch of the 5G, as it is a 5G phone, although earlier reports alleged that the delay is because Huawei does a lot of tests, trying to avoid problems like Samsung.

The launch date has not yet been revealed but is likely to be earlier than the date set for Huawei. It is reported that suppliers have already begun producing mass parts, and perhaps even the phone itself.

Recently, we have heard some announcements about Samsung’s future folding equipment, including one that opens as a shell and a patent of a curved display phone.

Self Storage Sydney can contribute to better business performance

Organising all things that you need for daily living neatly by ensuring its ready availability can often be a difficult task because knowingly or unknowingly we accumulate too many things over time presuming all to be important but many of which might have not much use in daily life. This can result in overcrowding of materials in homes and offices that look cluttered and untidy.  However, it is difficult to decide if it would be right to discard all such sparingly used or unused items to keep homes and offices clutter free. An easy solution to the problem is to look for additional space by hiring self storage Sydney Storage Plus where you can keep such unused or little used items that you can access when needed and free up space at home or office.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The arrangement gives you the satisfaction of quickly accessing even the least needed items as if it is just close to you but without occupying your home space. The need for self-storage may arise if you are moving to a new home and have excess materials that you want to preserve carefully. There may be many other situations too when individuals and businesses need some extra space to keep materials for short or longer period.

To understand the usefulness of self-storage in more details, please go through this article.

Space is no constraint

Space crunch that people often face at homes or offices vanishes in a moment when you hire space in a self-storage facility. The facilities provide tailor made storage units with ample space for storing all kinds of items for residential and commercial use. The storage facilities come equipped with secured storage units of various sizes that are very useful to store items that are difficult to keep within the limited space at homes. Since the facilities operate round the clock, the items remain accessible just as conveniently as you could access it at home.

Saves time in locating the items

The self-storage units are so well organized and provide such easy access to the stored materials that it is easy to locate any item without wasting any time. At homes or offices, it is never possible to keep items as well organized as it happens in the storage facilities and there is not even the slightest difficulty faced in finding the stored items which can be a very challenging task in any home or office setting. Quick retrieval of the stored items adds to the business efficiency of organizations that can offer better customer service.

Improves business efficiency

Doing more with little is the secret of organizational efficiency and best achieved by hiring extra storage facilities that allow quick and easy access to materials as well as documents.  Since document archiving needs large space which does not fit into the office, organizations hire separate storage facilities for storing documents that they can retrieve quickly. Similarly, items that have occasional use can go to the storage facilities to free up office space.

The systematic and secured storage systems are like an extended arm of the business that contributes to better business performance.

Oppo demonstrates the selfie camera under the screen

In recent years, the design of smartphones has been dominated by the debate as to how big the screen size would be and where critical components would be placed, which hamper the extension of the size of the phone screens without playing the size of the phone body itself.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

One option has been the integration of technologies such as fingerprint scanners or cameras and frontal sensors directly on the screen. Scanners and sensors were integrated and the remaining challenge was to integrate the cameras under the screen.

Oppo is one of the companies that has mostly experimented with the “notch” of screens and selfie cameras “pop-ups” and was the first company to demonstrate a camera under the screen a few weeks ago.

Now the company has decided to give more details on how this technology works. Oppo says the screen uses a translucent transparent material that works with a redesigned pixel structure so the light enters the camera.

The sensor itself is bigger than ordinary selfie cameras, increasing its aperture. The space reserved for the camera works by touch and Oppo says the screen quality is not affected.

The company faced another problem. Under-screen cameras had reduced image quality and problems such as haze, reflection, and color inaccuracy. For this Oppo has developed an algorithm that addresses these problems by bringing quality to the level of “every selfie camera on the market today.”

When will this phone arrive? Oppo says the plans to launch the device with a sub screen in “a near future.” Even in the past, the company demonstrated technology long before they were available.

The current flagship, Oppo Reno, with the zoom lens in the form of a snare is an example. However, the development and commercialization of this phone took more than a year.

More ads on Instagram

More ads will be added to Instagram. Yesterday, the social media platform said it will soon place ads on the site of exploring foreign posts where people go to find new content that suits their interests.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Ads will not appear directly on the Explore page but once the user opens a post on this page and starts browsing through the timeline. The ads will be photos and videos and the first will be live from today.

In the coming months, anyone will be able to place ads in Explore. While it is true that people enter the Explore space to find things of interest, they may not like to see more ads in their accounts.

Currently, Instagram uses Stories for Advertising Spaces and Timeline. Using an extra space for advertising may affect the authentic Instagram experience, however, making Facebook more likely to generate more revenue.

Instagram is an advertising business that needs to fit with brand pride. A free social network, users pay for Instagram in the form of attention for the content that distributes the marks.

American companies continue to do business with Huawei in violation of Trump’s order

American chip makers are still sending millions of dollars of products to Huawei bypassing Trump’s executive order that forbids something like that, the New York Times reported.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The sale of components to Huawei began three weeks ago reported the American prestige.

Sources close to the newspaper said Intel and Micron are benefiting from the way products are labeled for sending to Huawei as products that are manufactured abroad by American companies and are not considered American.

Last month, Huawei was placed on the black list of trade by banning the sale and purchase of technology from American companies. The executive order came as a concern of the United States of the close ties that Huawei has with the Chinese government, while the latter has repeatedly denied the allegations.

A week after Trump signed the executive order, the Department of Commerce eased some of the restrictions applied to Huawei by guaranteeing a temporary license so that the phone maker could update their software.

The movement caused much confusion in the industry. Micron CEO said he had initially stopped selling Huawei products but had resumed two weeks later.

Each company is affected differently because of the specific products and supply chains they have.
