With the new iPad launched last year, Apple finally brought Face ID technology to their iPad. This trend is expected to continue this year, but unfortunately it will not be for iPad or iPad mini followers who have been talking about it.
So says developer Steve Troughton-Smith who revealed the references made for the new iPad in iOS 12.2 beta.
References made to iOS beta mention a variety of iPads, which include cellular and WiFi models, but no references to Face ID. This means that the iPad and iPad mini will continue to use the Touch ID as the preferred security method.
Indeed, the news does not come as a surprise since both tablets are supposed to be cheap variants.
The budget iPad was launched at the beginning of 2018, where devices from the previous generation were actually presented.
However, the device was more than despicable given the price level and the fact that it comes with the Apple pen that allows students and artists to use the Apple pen without having to pay for the iPad Pro.
The iPad mini is also expected to be a little cool and will not be anything drastic, and as such will probably be positioned as another affordable and smaller iPad in size.
