Protect Your Privacy

How to Protect Your Privacy on Public Wifi Hotspots?

Public Wi-Fi hotspots are honeypots for hackers as they can access users’ information without their realization. But unfortunately, people still prefer to use public Wi-Fi networks when it comes to browsing the web at public places or on the go.

Compared to personal or home Wi-Fi hotspots, public Wi-Fi hotspots are insecure and prone to various kinds of security risks such as hacking, identity theft, data loss, etc. Therefore, you should follow some essential tips that help you protect your privacy when using public Wi-Fi hotspots.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Select the correct network

You should always pick the legitimate network; otherwise, you can become a target of Man-in-the-middle-attack. For instance, you might have seen several network names that look similar when trying to connect to public Wi-Fi like Dreamnet Soho or Dreamnet Sofo. Surprisingly, this is a tested sign of Man-in-the-middle-attack.

In this attack, hackers try to enforce or encourage users to sign-in into wrong networks. This way, they access your crucial information as most of the time, users do not check before connecting to public Wi-Fi and choose networks with strong signals.

However, you must check whether you are connecting to any legitimate public Wi-Fi hotspot because it is a matter of your online safety, which you should not take lightly.

Use a VPN

A VPN lets you remain safe and anonymous while using public Wi-Fi networks. When you install a VPN client on your device, it encrypts your data. Besides, it masks your actual IP address with another alternative IP address of your desired countries like the US, UK, Canada, Germany, Australia, etc.

However, selecting a reliable VPN that secures your digital footprints on the web is no easy task. You have to consider so many factors like jurisdiction, logging policy, price, compatibility, and others before subscribing to any VPN service.

There are numerous VPN providers available in the market that can keep you secure and anonymous over the web. However, ExpressVPN is one of the most famous VPN services since it has ticked all the boxes in terms of performance and value.

But to be on a safer side, you can opt for the free trial of ExpressVPN to save your hard-earned money. This way, you will be in a better position to make the right decision about your privacy. Through its free trial, you can test the performance of its different features like server spread, speed when connected to various servers, unblocking ability if it unblocks the content you want to access, privacy and security features, etc for 30 days with full money back guarantee.

Choose a secure network

Choosing a secure network is not as difficult as you think. When you try to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot while using a Windows laptop, you will see networks available with a “secured” sign. It means you can connect to these Wi-Fi networks as they seem secure and will not compromise your privacy.

On the contrary, if you connect to an unsecured network, you will receive a warning that says “Security Recommendation.” Hence, you had better connect to Wi-Fi networks that do not give you a prior security warning.

Don’t provide too many information

When you sign up for public Wi-Fi access, you should remain cautious while providing personal information. You can contemplate such information in the form of an email address, cell phone number, etc.

In these situations, you should provide your secondary email address and alternative cell phone number to complete the signup processes. Many restaurants and stores collect so much of their customers’ information when they use their Wi-Fi hotspots because they can use this data for marketing purposes later on.

In reality, you have to decide if you are willing to pass on your sensitive information for the sake of enjoying free internet access; the choice is yours. However, it is not a viable thing to do so as local stores and restaurants may sell your personal data to third-party marketing companies.

Use Antivirus

You should install antivirus software on your mobile device as it can safeguard you against different kinds of malware while using public Wi-Fi hotspots. You will receive an alert indicating any potential virus or malware as soon as you connect to a malicious Wi-Fi network.

Other tips to secure your privacy when using public Wi-Fi hotspots

Aside from following these recommendations, other simple tips allow you to protect your privacy and devices both at the time of using public Wi-Fi networks:

  • You should disable the automatic connection feature
  • Do not perform any financial transaction on your devices via public Wi-Fi connections
  • Once you have used a public Wi-Fi hotspot, always remember to check forget
  • Consider using your smartphone as a hotspot instead of relying on insecure public networks for internet access
  • Always use two-factor authentication as it secures your personal data from the prying eyes of hackers, snoopers, and other cybercriminals

Wrapping Up

To sum up, securing your privacy while using public Wi-Fi networks is your responsibility. If you do not give importance to your privacy, the chances are that you may end up becoming a target of hacking, phishing, ransomware and other security risks.

Therefore, you must follow the recommendations mentioned above when connecting to a public Wi-Fi hotspot on the go.

Autel scanner

Which Autel scanner is bidirectional?

Autel are a diagnostic scan tool company that make high quality and professional standard devices at competitive prices. All of their scanners offer great features like code reading, system reprogramming and live data streaming.

Some of their best scanning devices are also bidirectional, which is an excellent feature that really helps mechanics during vehicle servicing. In this article we’ll explain what a bidirectional scan tool really is, and give our recommendations of great Autel bi-directional scan tools.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

What is a bidirectional scanner?

If a scanner is bi-directional, it means that it can send information and commands to a vehicle, as well as receive information from it. A normal scan tool will only be able to receive information from the vehicle, which could be error codes, sensor readings and emissions values. A bi-directional scan tool can do all this, and in addition can send commands that will influence the vehicle directly.

For example, if a mechanic was investigating the brake pads of a car, they could use a bi-directional tool to open and close the brake callipers, without having to actually press the brake pedal themselves. This is not only useful if the brake pedal isn’t working properly, but also if a mechanic wants to be looking right at the callipers whilst they open and close them. You can also use a bi-directional scan tool to initiate ABS bleeding.

Bidirectional scan tools are also essential if the user wants to do any reprogramming or work on the ECU coding system. ECU coding basically lets the mechanic adjust parts of a vehicle’s CPU and tune it to however they or the customer would like it. There are quite a few things that you can adjust by re-coding the CPU, such as the actuator response, vehicle electronics, and even how many times the indicator blinks when you press it. A bi-directional scanner control gives a mechanic a lot of freedom and lets them personalise vehicles with ease (video here).

Overall, a bi-directional scan tool provides a range of options for a vehicle owner that a normal scanner simply can’t match. The ability to use car functions directly from the scan tool is very useful and this level of bidirectional control has made these tools very popular amongst professional mechanics.

Best Bi-directional Autel Scanners

Here are a couple of the best bidirectional scan tools made by Autel and there are also more options with in-depth reviews.

Maxisys MS906

The Maxisys MS906 is one of Autel’s latest diagnostic tools. Not only will it complete basic OBD functions such as disabling the check engine light or oil reset indicator, but it will also give a mechanic a great level of bi-directional control for running in depth, full system testing.

It has a high level of vehicle coverage and is compatible with a wide range of car brands and car models from around the world. It is very easy to use and comes with a one year warranty included. The Autel Maxisys is a great diagnostic tool with fantastic bidirectional functions.

MaxiDAS DS808

Another option is the MaxiDAS DS808. This scan tool also has good functionality and can run a variety of system tests, including actuator tests and fuel pump resetting.

The DS808 has an intuitive design and its software is simple to use and understand. Like the MS906, this diagnostic tool is compatible with a huge range of car makes and will have you covered with whatever drives into the workshop. It’s real time live data stream is a particularly well done feature.

Is Blue driver bidirectional?

Although the BlueDriver is capable of dual direction functions, they haven’t yet been fully integrated into the app. If you are only going to be reading sensor data and trouble codes, then the BlueDriver might serve you well. However, if you need to run active tests and use some of the best bi directional features, you won’t be able to with the BlueDriver.

Which Autel scanner is best?

Scanners made by this company are always well built and perform to a professional standard. It’s hard to say which is the best scanner they make, because a lot of them are designed with different uses in mind. Having said that, the MaxiSys MS906 and the MaxiDAS DS808 are some of the best scanners they make, and you can’t go wrong with either.

Which is better, Foxwell vs Autel?

These two brands are perhaps the most well known and respected in the business. You’ll be safe with a scanner from either – you can rest easy knowing you have a reliable tool with a great warranty whichever one you buy from.  If you are still unsure, check out this helpful video.

4 Tips For Attracting More Customers To Your Business Page

As a business, one of your biggest priorities should be increasing your customer base. Without customers, your business will cease to exist. The more customers that you have, the more income that you’ll generate. It’s really that simple. However, generating new customers isn’t always as simple.

The best way to bring in customers is to use the visibility of the World Wide Web. By creating a stellar business page, you can attract new clients to your website, and start generating more money right away. Take a look at some of the best tips to bring in more customers to your business page.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Offer A Deal

If there’s one thing that people love is the great deal. A good bargain can attract new people who may be shopping elsewhere currently.   It helps to offer your new customers an introductory discount, or even something free. Offering discounts and promotions can be a fantastic way to grab people’s attention who may not have otherwise considered you.

Current customers are one of your best resources for generating new ones. They will in turn share their high opinion of you with others who will in turn become customers as a result.

In addition to rewarding your new customers, you should also make sure that you take care of your old ones. Offer your loyal customers deals as well as a “thank you” for their business.

Network

Networking is all about bringing your brand to light.  It’s important that you not only network in the real world, but also online. By networking on social media, you’ll bring an entirely new audience to your business page that may not have otherwise landed there.

By getting involved in online communities you’ll start to become the first person that people think of when they need the kind of product or service that you offer.

One of the best ways to go about networking is to see it as an opportunity to help others rather than asking yourself what’s in it for you.

Use SEO

It’s important that you’re implementing some kind of search engine optimization strategy. Think of SEO as a way to tell Google to send customers your way. If you’re not familiar with some basic SEO techniques yet, you may want to consider getting familiar with them. The higher that you can appear on search results, the more visibility that your webpage will have.

Know Your Customer

One of the best ways to appeal to your customer is to know who they are. Get to know what it is that they are after and what attracts them. By understanding how your potential clients think, you’ll be more likely to reel them in to check out your page.

Apple 5nm Chip-

Apple today will show more than the iPhone 12, a technological revolution

Today the company will make a fuss with the first devices that have a new type of chip

With the new processor, users of these devices can edit 4K video, modify high-resolution photos, and play graphically intensive games more easily than previously possible using fewer battery.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The new 5-nanometer architecture means that the size of the transistors has been reduced and the processor board occupies more of them than was previously possible. These transistors are now only 25 atoms wide and billions of them can be placed on a single plate. Simply put, more processing power. Four years ago the industry doubted that such an advancement would be possible.

Such advancements would not have been possible before an unknown Dutch company called ASML. This company has developed a way to construct transistors on the silicon plate through a process called Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV). Its machinery costs $123 million a share. It is currently the only company that manufactures these devices and they are more cost-effective than alternative options due to the low level of defects.

Only two chipmakers have started using this technology commercially:

Both firms have their share in ASML alongside Intel which will start using the technology in 2021.

What exactly does 5-nanometer mean?

One nanometer is one of 1 billion Metter. This is the size that human hair grows every second. Transistors are used to measure the width of a component. But a decade ago the way chips are designed changed and nanometers are no longer used as a geometric effect. Today 5 nanometers is more of a marketing term and two companies with the same design can produce transistors with different performance.

To help you understand the size of transistors, at every 1 mm2 of the Apple chip are put 17,1 million transistors. The new structure with a stack of four nanosheets allows about 30 transistors to be placed onto the chip with the size of a fingernail bringing significant gains in efficiency and power.

In comparison to the 10 nm chip, the new 5 nm structure brings 40% performance improvements at fixed power, or 75% power saving at matched performance. This leads to more powerful and more efficient smaller devices.

N5 is the first TSMC process designed around extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV). Because it uses a 13.5-nanometer light instead of 193-nanometers, EUV can define chip features in one step—compared with three or more steps using 193-nanometer light.

Smarter smartphones

Everything that was said above matters because switching to 5-nanometer means that devices are more intelligent. As chips advance, more tasks are capable of performing and many of them can now be done locally instead of being sent to remote servers. We have already seen smartphones capable of transcribing voices or recognizing people in pictures without the need for an internet connection. With new processors, more complex tasks are possible with artificial intelligence which means that smartphones can better recognize the world around them.

Switching to smaller transistors, processors use less power and have higher performance. For this reason, TSMC 5-nanometer chips should be 15% faster than 7-nanometer ones or 30% more power-efficient.  Apple claims that the A14 can perform machine learning tasks 10 times faster than the A13. But consumers are more concerned about real-life benefits than theoretical digits.

iPhone 12 Last Minute Rumors: Better Zoom and Longer Battery Life

Apple will unveil new iPhone models today. The company will hold an event at 19:00 with our local time and you can watch the live broadcast live on this YouTube link. With the Apple event just a few hours away, you would think that we already know everything about the new iPhone 12. And, for the most part, we know, and here are two summaries of what we expect for Apple to announce tomorrow.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

According to speculation, Apple will introduce four versions of the iPhone 12, including a 5.4-inch “mini” model, an iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. Some of the models will be equipped with 5G technology although the latter is still in experimental stages in many parts of the world.

However, the leaker Max Winebauch has disseminated some very detailed, last-minute information about the new iPhones, some of which we have not heard before.

According to Winebauch, the smallest of the iPhone, the 5.4-inch “iPhone 12 Mini” – will have a TrueDepth camera system adjusted at the front, resulting in a level that is smaller horizontally but slightly larger vertically.

Zoom is getting another improvement; Weinbauch claims that the Pro models will have 3x optical zoom and 25x to 30x digital zoom, while the non-Pro iPhone 12 models will get better zoom through software upgrades.

The new iPhones are getting bigger batteries than the previous models. This should result in one-hour battery life for Pro models. However, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini will perform worse than the iPhone 11 when it comes to battery life, due to its smaller size.

Other news from Weinbauch includes support for 4K video at 120 or 240 fps, faster Face ID operation, night mode being added to the telephoto camera, better low light performance for the ultrawide camera, and a possible macro camera mode, as well as a portrait video.

The big Apple event starts at 19:00, on Tocday, October 13th.

How to follow the iPhone 12 live presentation?

Apple will introduce new iPhone models today. The company will hold an event at 19:00 with our local time and you can watch the live broadcast live on this YouTube, or through the video below.

Apple will also introduce a wireless charging device. The iPhone giant has also long been reported to be working on a pair of headphones that will join the AirPods line. As we said above Apple will broadcast the activity live on YouTube and it is the easiest way to watch it.

What is comparative negligence law and how it works?

In any personal injury case, the most vital factor is establishment of liability for the accident, which resulted in injuries to victim. As such, if you want to claim compensation then it will be necessary to prove that it was the fault of the other entity because of which you had to suffer injuries. In the following sections we will look at importance of establishing liability, what is comparative negligence law and how it works.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Importance of Establishing Liability in an Accident

Establishing liability depends on the case and can be easier to do in some than in other cases. For example, if the driver was distracted while talking on the phone then establishing liability for a personal injury lawyer in Tacoma will be a straightforward task whereas, it will be a difficult endeavor when the car hits a pedestrian on a rainy evening right outside the marked cross walk.

Intricacies of Comparative Negligence Law

Where a liability is shared by several parties, comparative negligence or fault law comes into play. According to this law, there is no particular threshold related to fault, which a claimant has to meet before the person can bring in a claim.

Thus, both parties can be considered responsible for the accident and a certain percentage of the fault can be assigned to both parties. For instance, if you get involved in a car accident and the other driver was responsible for the accident. But, if it is found that you were also speeding, then you will have partial responsibility in the accident and will be blamed for the same.

Similarly, you may fall down a stairwell on another person’s property and get injured. However, if it is found that you were running down from stairs then the court will hold you partially responsible for the accident.

How comparative negligence law works?

Comparative negligence laws tend to be more amiable for those victims who share some part of the blame during an accident. However, the law also constrains the percentage of damage that can be claimed by the victim based on the part the victim played in the accident.

For instance, Party X and Party Y were involved in an accident and due to their negligence, you got injured. The final damage amount was calculated to be $200,000 and Party A’s responsibility in the accident was calculated to be 25% and 75% for Party B.

As per comparative negligence law, both the parties are responsible for their share of the damage as finalized by the judge, if trial takes place without a jury.

Types of Comparative Negligence

Pure Contributory Negligence | Pure Comparative Negligence | Modified Comparative Negligence | Modified Comparative Negligence with 51% Bar

Pure Contributory Negligence: Here, judge takes a decision about percentage of responsibility that the victim will have. The overall damages that victim can recover is determined by evaluating this percentage.

For instance, if judge finds that 25% of the fault was of victim then he or she will be entitled to get only 75% of the damages.

Pure Comparative Negligence: In case a person has directly contributed to his or her own injuries then they cannot collect any damages for losses and injuries they have incurred. For example, if a victim in a car accident is even one percent liable for his or her own injuries then the person will not be allowed to file a claim lawsuit against the driver who is at-fault.

Modified Comparative Negligence: In this type of comparative negligence, victim is allowed to claim compensation for damages if they have less than fifty percent responsibility for their own injuries.

Modified Comparative Negligence with 51% Bar: This is same as the above rule, but here the victim is allowed to get compensation if the person has less than or equal to fifty percent liability in the accident.

Role of a Lawyer

Your Tacoma personal injury attorney will be playing a crucial role in the lawsuit. It will your lawyer’s responsibility to prove negligence of the other party in the accident. In addition, the lawyer will have to take necessary steps to lower the percentage amount of fault that gets assigned to you.

Lawyer will be collecting evidence that will help in demonstrating other party’s negligence, which resulted in the accident and subsequent injuries. This way the lawyer will ensure that you get the maximum possible compensation. In addition, for proving your negligence, the lawyer will be reviewing all available details including:

  • Photographs and video footage
  • Accident reports
  • Expert testimony
  • Witness statements

A Final Note

As we can see there are many complexities to be looked into in comparative negligence law and by appointing Whalley Law Group you will feel assured that you will get proper representation in the case. Our injury lawyer in Tacoma will thoroughly analyze all the aspects of your case and take steps to make sure that you get the maximum compensation.

How to Minimize the Risks of Losing Your Valuable Files

The entire world relies on some shape or form of technology. Technology has completely changed the entire world, from the way the businessman does his business, to the way a teenager spends his afternoon. But, because of this reliance on technology, comes a dependence on our files. If our files become lost, compromised, or corrupted, we are unable to proceed with the regular swing of our day-to-day activities, whether they be gaming or business. Files can be very valuable, whether because of sentimentality [family photographs, etc.], or because the files themselves are worth money.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

This page will hope to tell you how to minimize the risks of losing your valuable files, and how to ensure that your files do not become corrupted, unusable, or compromised. Many of the suggestions put forward in this page are just good practice, and most of them you should uphold without being told to. You must also ensure you maintain some of the things listed here so you do not wind up having your data compromised or having it lost. Here is how you can minimize the risks of losing your valuable files and data.

Regular Backups

Backing up your data is the first of this list, and undoubtedly, the most important, and the best method of maintaining the security of your files. Backups are a way in which you can create duplicate copies of your files that, in an instance of computer breakage or theft, can be accessed. It also ensures that should anything ever-corrupt the existing files – that you can restore the files to before their corruption. According to the tech specialists from BackBlaze.com, backing up your computer is essential to ensure your data does not become lost. With our entire lives so focused on technology and the digital world – it is essential we protect our data, and a backup is one of the best ways to do so.

Security

The next best way to protect your data and files is to ensure you have adequate security measures installed on your computer. It is quite often the case that our files become compromised through security breaches, such as viruses [malware, ransomware], or more serious infections [trojan horses]. Installing security software on your computer is a good way to ensure that your data does not become lost or compromised. You can download all sorts of anti-viral measures on your computer, each with their own advantages and benefits.

Sharing

Sharing your computer can be another way that files become damaged or corrupted. Someone may be using your computer and may be behaving frivolously, as unfortunately, people tend to do when they are using something that is not their own. They may end up damaging or corrupting your files through sheer negligence or could accidentally delete them. For this reason, it is best that you never allow someone onto your personal account if you are sharing a computer, and rather, that you create for them their own account that does not have administrative privileges.

Careful

Being careful when using your computer is a good way to ensure you do not lose your precious files. As other people can be frivolous with files, so can you too, and you may accidentally damage or lose your own files through careless computer use. Be careful on your account and be meticulous with everything that you are doing so that you do not damage or lose your own files. It is very easy to be careful with your computer – but at the same time – it is very easy to be careless.

Updates

Keeping your computer updated is a good way to make sure that it does not become compromised, nor does it begin to break down. Updating your computer should be something that you do as soon as the updates become available to you. Updates will be made available by the factory manufacturer and you should be notified as soon as they become available. Update your computer, but do backups before you do updates, as it is very common for an update to corrupt files and prevent your computer from being able to restore.

Third-Party Backups

Third-party backups such as independent Cloud servers are a great way for you to back-up your computer and ensure your files never become lost. You can back your computer up through the factory settings, as mentioned previously, but you can also use third-party servers, which offer you the ability to ensure your data is never lost.

Now, with the help of this page, you know how you can protect your precious files and ensure they do not become compromised, nor are they lost, nor do they fall victim to sophisticated fraud gangs designed entirely to defraud you.

Popular Bikes In UK

Top 10 Most Popular Bikes in the UK [2020]

The history of motorcycles is full of interesting tales of innovation, human perseverance, and of course, an unquenchable thirst to ride these two-wheeled wonders. Many countries and individuals have shaped the global motorcycle industry that we’re now familiar with.

However, these age-old brands and models aren’t appealing anymore to audiences in 2020. They have their own preferences. Foreign motorcycle companies like BMW, Honda, Yamaha, etc. dominate the British market. But, which motorcycles are the most popular in 2020?

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

1. Honda CB750

To start off the list here’s a classic – the Honda CB750 is an iconic motorcycle famous for its reliable machinery and stunning looks.

Surprisingly, the base model of this bike isn’t quite appealing. But, when customized, this air-cooled, four-cylinder two-wheeler looks better than most modern-day bikes.

This iconic powerhouse from Honda has earned numerous titles and acclaims. It stands proudly in the UK National Motor Museum as one of the most famous ‘classic’ motorcycles of the country.

2. Honda CB125F

Next on the list is a bestseller. Honda CB125F has constantly been topping the sales charts. With a reasonable cost price of £2829, the CB125F roadster can be driven by A1 license-holders. Hence, much like Yamaha’s YS125, this bike is extremely common amongst UK’s 17-year-olds. But, it’s not the ‘go-to’ option for motorcycle shoppers looking for cheap deals. The CB matches Honda’s incomparable reputation for ensuring commuter safety and comfort.

3. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650

Next up on the most popular list is the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. This all-new model comes with twin cylinders. In the year of its launch (2018), it went on to be the UK’s bestselling 125-650cc motorcycle. The 649cc, air-cooled engine provides lively performances. It delivers 47bhp. The sleek-looking Yamaha Virago achieved a cult following as soon as it hit the market. It’s Yamaha’s first V-Twin cruiser model.

6. Honda CBR650R

By far the best-selling sports motorcycle in the country, the Honda CBR650R wasn’t always this popular in the UK market. First launched in 2011 as CBR600F, this sporty bike had to be redesigned and rebranded as a newer version of the classic 90s model of the same name. After three updates, the four-cylinder motor has finally achieved ‘perfection.’ It produces 90bhp, comes with an ergonomic LCD dash, and is very cost-efficient at just £7729.

7. BMW R 1250

The list would be incomplete without one of BMW’s adventure bikes. The BMW R 1250 (GS version) is one of the UK’s best-selling bikes. The improved version launched in 2019 rekindled public interest in both the standard GS and Adventure modes of the motorcycle. Priced at around £14,000. Most roads in Britain are full of these ‘beasts.’

8. Harley-Davidson Sportster XL1200X Forty-Eight

Even though the first petroleum-fueled motorcycle called Daimler Reitwagen was invented in Germany, it’s cousin country, the United Kingdom has had an equally important contribution to the growth of the global motorcycle industry. These were the top 10 most popular motorcycle models in the UK.
