Car shipping

Car shipping during summer 2020

In general, shipping is affected by weather conditions and seasons. Without exception, the shipping business is subject to seasonal fluctuations. It is caused by various factors, as we will see in this article.

Depending on your route, the delivery of your vehicle may be favorable both in winter and summer. Whatever your situation is, whether you move away and take your car with you or you have chosen a car on eBay auto auctions and want it to be delivered – understanding how the seasons affect the business with help you better plan your schedule and avoid any inconvenience.

However, in the summer of 2020, another problem arises the coronavirus outbreak on international and domestic transport. In short, there’s nothing to worry about in terms of road transport.

The problems remain the same: weather, distance, choosing a shipping company, and preparing the car. And yes, to wear a mask when contacting a shipping company’s employees, of course, has become a requirement.

Peculiarities Of Shipping In Summer

Some claim that winter months in shipping are more expensive than summer. However, based on research by Consumer Affairs, most transport companies charge higher fees in summer. According to the study, prices for delivery in the summer can increase by 200-300 dollars.

There are several reasons for these results:

  • In summer, road transport companies are in high demand. Many people prefer to travel in the summer. This period is also ideal for traveling with children. As demand exceeds supply, prices rise. Major routes such as New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago experience more traffic.
  • To protect vehicles from winter snow, closed delivery is recommended. This transportation system is a premium service that excludes most vehicle owners. People who cannot afford this service may prefer to wait until the weather settles down. Thus, fewer people leave in winter than in summer. Although summer temperatures are high, vehicles can still move around without interruption.
  • There is often less traffic during the winter months. Low demand makes road transport companies reduce prices.

It should be noted that the vast difference in prices is not observed in all companies. Smaller and newer companies tend to take this opportunity to win more customers. Therefore, in summer, they may not increase prices significantly.

Vehicle Preparations During Summer

Extreme temperatures characterize summer seasons in some states. It can affect the quality of outdoor vehicles. If you are transporting your car to these areas, make sure it is wrapped correctly.

These factors can affect the rates and delivery times for your shipment. Generally, you should make the reservation early enough to take into account the possible options. If your route is badly affected by the weather, you can wait until the conditions get better.

Factors Affecting The Cost

A whole range of factors determines the cost of delivering a car. Below we have highlighted the most common ones.

1.Type/Size of Car

The cost often depends on the size of the vehicle being transported. Delivering a medium sedan costs about $50 more than delivering a small car; a large sedan will cost $100 more. SUVs, trucks, and luxury cars are also delivered at a higher price.

For example, according to our research, the cost of a Toyota Highlander (SUV) 2019 from Denver, Colorado, to Orlando, Florida, is between $890 and $1142 at our five most affordable prices.

Similarly, sedans start at the bottom of the range, and trucks are more expensive. We’ve also found that if you’re transporting a classic car, you can count on adding an extra $800 to $3,000 with the exceptional handling needed to transport it safely.

Below is a breakdown of the costs to transport each type of vehicle, according to our research.

Again, we used Denver in Orlando as an example.

Vehicle Type Cost
2019 Toyota Yaris (Economy) $947-$1,960
2019 Chevrolet Malibu (Midsize) $955-$1,245
2019 Chrysler 300 (Full Size) $955-$1,245
2019 Toyota Rav4 (Mid-size SUV) $1,038-$1,370
2019 Chevrolet Suburban (Large SUV) $1,120-$1,589
2019 Porsche 718 Cayman (Luxury Sport) $947-$2,450
2019 Ford F-150 (Truck) $1,185-$1,669
1938 Cadillac LaSalle (Classic) $1,045

2 . Car Condition

If the vehicle is not working, expect to pay about $100 if it has no steering or braking power and $200 to $500 if the car must be winch or driven by a forklift.

3. Shipping

Most consumers want to send and receive their vehicles as soon as possible, but this increases the price. It will cost an extra $100 to $500 for expedited shipping.

Also, the form of shipment – closed or open transport – will affect the overall price. Open transport is usually the most common and affordable than closed transport.

4. Insurance

Automobile shipping companies have insurance, but the brokers who arrange the delivery are not because they only arrange the delivery.

You should get a copy of your insurance policy and read it and then discuss whether you need extra protection with the company you are doing business with or your insurance agent. Additional insurance can cost between $100 and $300.

5.Time Of Year

During the summer months, more and more consumers prefer to ship cars, so the prices are higher. During holidays and bad weather, prices can also rise by $100-500.

6. Distance

While consumers understand that distance affects pricing, they may not realize how much. Shipping to the nearby state, of course will differ from shipping a car to Alaska from Texas.

When the drop-off point is not in a large city or close to a central interstate distance, it may be twice as high as the original quoted rate. If you need to make delivery in a rural area, think about finding a way to change the pickup or drop-off location.

7. Fuel Surcharges

It is understandable, but it is easy to forget about factoring fuel prices during your move.

Tips For Shipping A Car In 2020

Insist On A Vehicle Condition Report

You should make sure you get a copy of the Vehicle Condition Report when the car is disembarked. This document, similar to the one you receive when you rent the car, describes your car’s condition when it was dropped off, including dents, scratches, mileage, and other information.

Carefully compare the car with the report to see if there is any damage when it is delivered. Once you sign the report, your ability to claim for damages will be limited. Do not accept the car’s delivery at night if you cannot see the car’s condition.

Prepare Your Car For Shipping

Car transport companies are responsible for transporting your car, but they generally do not drive you to your new home.

It should be loaded onto a truck with multiple vehicles (or a ship if you are moving internationally) and delivered to your new home or the car transportation company’s warehouse. Here are some helpful tips on how to prepare your car for shipment.

Wash Your Car

Dirt and dust may mask dents, marks, and scratches. If you have a clean car, you should be able to notice the damage caused by the car delivery company as soon as your move is complete.

Don’t Get Gas

If your car’s gas tank is full, it makes your car heavier, affecting the cost and increasing transportation risk.

Check For Leaks

The transportation company will not transport your vehicle if there are any noticeable leaks. Check the chassis for droplets and repair them before you move.

Check Tire Pressure

Excessive or under-inflated tires are just as risky during transport as when driving on the road. Reduce the risk of tire damage and inflate the tires properly before transportation.

Remove Custom Accessories

If you change your car with custom accessories such as a spoiler, it is a good idea to remove them before shipping.

Custom parts are unique and increase your car’s size, making it more challenging to mount them on a truck.

Frequently Asked Questions About Car Shipping

What Affects Price When Shipping A Car?

Six main things can affect the price of car delivery: distance and location, type of car, the car’s condition, open or closed transport, the price of gas, and season.

Will I Be Given An Accurate Delivery Date?

Rarely can companies promise a specific date of receipt or delivery. However, most companies will provide an estimate with a three-day window.

During a busy season, this delivery window can be longer than three days. If the company specifies a date, you will receive this information in writing and the consequences of the missed date, which may be a discount or refund of the price.

How Long Will It Take To Ship A Car?

Usually, it should take between one and two weeks for a car to arrive, depending on travel distance.

Do I Need To Purchase Insurance?

The carrier has insurance that covers the damage to the car during transport. However, according to research, one out of 20 cars is damaged during transportation outside the transportation area. The insurance will cover that gap.

Can My Car Be Picked Up From Anywhere?

Customers can specify pickup or delivery preferences by using the door-to-door option. However, the vehicle must be supervised by someone who will sign the appropriate forms and inspect it before it is loaded into the truck.

Why Would I Use Enclosed Vs. Open Transport?

Closed transport provides greater protection for your car. However, it is more expensive than open transport. You can use open transport as a less expensive option. A good idea is to use closed transport for luxury or expensive vehicles.

How Do I Get A Car Shipping Quote?

To get an offer from the road transportation service, here is what you need to know:

  • The model and make of your car
  • The year it was made
  • Whether your car is currently running
  • The delivery route (where it needs to be picked up and where it needs to be delivered).

Your quote might be more accurate if you also know your approximate delivery date and whether you want a closed or open carrier.

List this information and then call your preferred car delivery company. Some transport companies also allow you to request quotes online.

Can I Store Suitcases Or Boxes In My Car?

It may seem convenient to store suitcases and boxes for transport in your car, but it is against the law to store personal belongings.

Also, if personal belongings in the car are damaged during transport, they are not responsible for their replacement. Only the vehicle itself is covered by insurance.

To Sum Up

It would help if you considered such things as distance, vehicle type, vehicle condition, open or closed transport, and current fuel price.

When transporting a car, whether it is by state, country, or the world, it is essential to find a quality company that is ready to answer all your questions.

Ensure that your carrier has the proper authority and license and that you get quality service at a reasonable price. Also, you should consider if shipping during the summer is suitable for you.

Seamless Subscription Billings

How to Implement Seamless Subscription Billings for Your Customers

Online transactions for the monthly subscriptions of customers is an excellent way of maximising efficiency and convenience. The sheer number of subscribers is difficult enough to monitor regularly—that is, if a systematic payment and billing management system does not exist.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Creating a systematic subscription billings system for customer payments makes it easier for your business to monitor transactions with each customer. It also enables your customers to manage their payments accordingly and avoid missing payment deadlines. A system for billing your subscribers likewise allows you to gauge what modifications or adjustments are needed in the company’s services and payment gateways to boost efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What are some of the tried-and-tested methods businesses can use to execute a user-friendly subscription billing process?

  • Define each subscription package.

Each subscription you offer to your customers is composed of different features and offered at varying rates. Enumerate and provide concise information on the benefits provided for each type of subscription. Doing so gives your customers a complete reference of what they are paying for. Without clearly defining what each subscription package offers, it becomes even difficult to regulate payments and reinforce existing customers’ transactions.

  • Send billing statements on the same date every month.

An effective way of reminding end-users about their subscriptions is to send them their monthly bills on the same date every month. Their billing statement’s uniformity instantly creates a mental association that functions as an unspoken reminder or alarm. As such, customers will no longer feel surprised the moment you send their bill. It gives your customers enough leeway to prepare their payments, too.

  • Create subscription forms and send them across different communication platforms.

Subscription forms entail interested customers or potential subscribers to provide their personal information such as their name, email address, and age. You can use this information to categorise your customers and organise data about your subscribers. You can use this information to monitor trends in subscriptions and devise ways to create more convenient billing methods that adhere to dynamic customer demands.

  • Enlist the services of a subscription payment service.

A subscription payment service prepares a tailor-made system based on the products and services that you offer. It sets up billing options that your customers can choose from, and synchronises payment data of each user with your previous invoices to create analytical graphs and reports. The result is a more comprehensive understanding of the factors that affect the paying behaviours of customers.

  • Be responsive to customer queries

Assign customer service agents to address customer concerns regarding their monthly billing statements. If possible, incorporate a live chat widget on your website and have support representatives to monitor the chats regularly. Quick responses to user concerns help nail down the factors that delay or affect their business transactions. For instance, if a user’s payment is not pushing through to the business’s end, then there could be a problem with the payment gateway system. It is also possible that the customer’s personal information has been phished. Addressing billing concerns reflects professionalism and provides key areas on what else can be improved on the existing billing processes for customer subscriptions.

Working on subscription billings is tricky because it requires maintaining customer satisfaction while ensuring that their experience with the company’s services continues to improve as time goes by. A seamless billing process sets the tone for how customers are likely to boost their subscription or recommend the business to their peers.

Core i9-10850K CPU

Intel Introduced the new Core i9-10850K Processor: A lower 100Mhz frequency than the 10900K and will be around $35 cheaper

Intel introduced a new member of the Comet Lake family today, with the arrival of the Core i9-10850K model

It is a slower but more budget version of the 19 core Core i9-10900K flagship. It has a 100Mhz lower frequency than the 10900K and will be cheaper, about $35 compared to the $488 10900K.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The chip has the same flagship configuration and the same 125-watt power. According to Intel the new chip is built based on customer feedback. Critics say Intel has struggled to reach 10900K and has decided to produce slower, cheaper chips.

The company has encountered trouble in other areas as well. Recently they stated the postponement of 7-nanometer chips with another six months and production will take place only in 2022. The postponement has come as a result of a defect in the production process. Until then Intel will only produce 10-nanometer processors while AMD rivals are already well placed in the 7-nanometer segment and are preparing for the new generation.

Galaxy Z Flip 5G

Galaxy Z Flip 5G Officially Revealed

Will cost $1,449.99 this time, $70 more than the first

We no longer need to wonder about rumors as Samsung makes it official; Galaxy Z Flip 5G will come on August 7, 2020. At first glance, the device is totally the same as its 4G predecessor, and in fact, apart from 5G waves and the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, nothing has changed.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

However, the support for 5G networks is limited to under 6GHz and there is no support for 5G mmWave. This means that users will only get 20-30% faster speeds compared to 4G/LTE, and will not get the gigabit+ speed that is only possible with 5W mmWave networks.

Samsung has managed to insert a 5G antenna without changing anything externally, but on the other hand, has made adjustments to the system. The “Flex” mode has initially allowed auto programs to be reconfigured to a semi-open screen. YouTube should work properly now with Flex but the camera app should also work from more angles.

The Galaxy Flip was expected to be unveiled at the August 5 event along with Fold and a host of other products, but Samsung seems to be clearing the stage for the real star: Galaxy Note 20.

As for Fold, there are some rumors talking about more significant changes, 5G implementation, new processor, camera improvements, and the same price.

The Samsung Galaxy Flip will go on sale on August 7 in the USA and then across the globe.

3 Tips For Designing a 5-Star Mobile App

To have a successful mobile app, your design has to be practically perfect. With the amount of competition there is out there for downloads, if your app isn’t designed to be both breathtaking and easy to use, there’s little chance that you’ll get the number of downloads that you were hoping for.

So to help you accomplish both of these objectives, here are three tips for designing a five-star mobile app.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Stand Out From Your Competition

Before you start designing your own mobile app, it’s a good idea to learn about other apps that are occupying the same space in the market that your app will be so that you can know how to stand out from your competition.

To learn as much as you can from your research, Hicham Moutahir, a contributor to Medium.com, that you find the best apps to study by first looking at apps that get the most downloads, which apps get the best ratings from their users, and what details are included in any reviews to help you learn more about what the app does right or does wrong. With this information, you should be able to know what you should or shouldn’t do as you’re designing your app in order to go above and beyond what your competitors have done.

Cut Out The Clutter

With the basic knowledge that you’ve gained from your study of other mobile apps, you should then try to lay out how you want your app to look.

In your excitement to build your own mobile app, it’s not uncommon for people to over-design things. To keep you from making this mistake, Nick Babich, a contributor to SmashingMagazine.com, advises that you try to keep your app clear out as much clutter as possible. During your design, try to only include things that have an actual purpose. If there’s a button or a design element that doesn’t absolutely have to be there, it’s probably best to just leave it out.

Make Things As Easy As Possible

Along the same vein as keeping the look of your app as uncluttered as you can, you should also try to make your app easy enough that any person can use.

To help you with this, Ayush of MobileAppDaily.com suggests that you streamline the tasks within your mobile app so that your users have a low cognitive load. What this means is that you don’t want to give your users too much to think about or process on each screen of your app. So if you can lengthen out a process so you’re not requiring too much from your users at one time, it’s best to do so.

If you have an idea for a mobile app, consider using the tips mentioned above as you design it.

The Game of Thrones prequel has been approved by HBO

The selection of actors has begun

Despite the fact that the Game of Thrones finale greatly divided the audience, our time with the Westeros world is not over yet and we will be revisiting it again soon, but this time we will go back in time. HBO has decided to expand the George RR Martin universe even further on television.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

According to a report, the pre-production for “House of the Dragon“, as it is to be titled, has started now, after HBO gave the necessary approval to start the selection of the cast. It is already known that the new universe series of “A Song of Ice & Fire” will consist of 10 episodes, with Ryan Condal as director of the project, while Miguel Sapochnik, director of several episodes of GoT, will take care of the first episode.

In terms of plot, it will be based on Martin’s book, Fire & Blood, which covers the story of the House of Targaryen, almost 300 years before the events we saw at Game of Thrones and yes, there will definitely be dragons.

OnePlus Nord

OnePlus Nord Officially Revealed: A slightly more modest version of the OnePlus 8 starting at 399 euros

Nord will be available in blue and gray with 8GB RAM and 128GB space for €399 or 12/256GB for €499

As all well-known manufacturers of high-end smartphones were exploring the opportunity to take advantage of the mid-segment, OnePlus prices were gradually rising. It is true that the company never surpassed the $1,000 price tag, but for those who know its history well, they know how far it stands today from the mission it started with: high-end phones at extremely competitive prices.

With the unveiling of the OnePlus Nord model, the company says it is returning to its true mission as it continues its adventure in the high flagship segment. In short, it is not different from the tactics followed by Apple, Google, and Samsung who offer all budget flagships in response to consumer trends.

Back to the origin, the OnePlus Nord was officially unveiled, and if we were to find a general description, this smartphone is simply a slightly more modest version of the OnePlus 8 for a cheaper price starting at of 399 euros.

The product is designed for Europe and for this price the buyer gets a 5G phone with Snapdragon 765G processor. It’s not a real flagship and OnePlus knows this quite well because the more powerful Snapdragon 865 processor is reserved for the OnePlus 8 which costs a few hundred dollars more. Sub-6Ghz 5G and Warp Charge 30T fast charge powered by Snapdragon 765G is the only integral change from OnePlus.

In some aspects, sit has been conservative and in others generous. The design is definitely premium, as is the screen, not at all resembling a mid-range phone we are used to. The 6.44-inch 1080p AMOLED display, which this time does not bend sideways, has what every smartphone today is using as a reason to attract new buyers: the 90Hz display. The resolution is 2400×1080 pixels.

On the back are four cameras: 48-megapixel main, 8-megapixel super wide-angle, 2-megapixel macro and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It has the same Sony IMX586 sensor as the OnePlus 8. On the front are two selfie cameras: a 32-megapixel and a super wide-angle 107-degree 8-megapixel. The question is what impact will the less powerful Snapdragon 765G processor has on the camera performance.

In recent years of software development has yielded tremendous results in photographic quality. With this sensor, OnePlus has a long experience since OnePlus 7 and has already refined it in terms of software.

The 90Hz display makes using the phone a stand-alone experience in addition to the bezels which have been reduced as never before.

The 4,115 mAh battery should provide a full day of use and thanks to the 5G integration in the Snapdragon 765G the lifetime impact from the processor will be smaller than that in the OnePlus 8 which has a separate 5G modem. OnePlus Nod weighs 184 grams and is available in blue and black colors, while there is a fingerprint scanner on the screen.

OnePlus Nord Prices and Availability

Nord will go on sale in Europe on August 4 with a base price of 399 euros for the 8GB RAM model and 128GB memory. The model 12GB RAM and 256GB memory will cost 499 euros. At the moment the main focus is on Europe and India.
