In addition to the Audi A6 in Sedan and Avant versions, ABT Sportsline now offers its own modification and boosting package for A6 owners in the Allroad Quattro version.

In terms of engine, ABT has reinforced the engine of this A6 Allroad, the 3.0-litre V6 TFSI petrol, from 250 kW/340 to 300 kW/408 horsepower. It also offers the package for boosting diesel engines, 50 TDI, and 55 TDI, from 210 kW/286 to 257 kW/349 horsepower.

With the ABT package, the 3.0-litre TDI diesel engine now has a capacity of 243 kW/330 horsepower in the 50 TDI version, while in the 55 TDI version it is 282 kW/384 horsepower.

The company also offers a new 20- or 21-inch wheel set (FR and GR series), the ABT Sound Control system for the exhaust system, and some fibre carbon details in the interior for this Audi A6 Allroad Quattro.

Do Electric Cars Save You Money? Yes And No

There’s a lot to love about electric cars. From the smooth and quiet ride to the instant torque and acceleration. Then there is the fact that you are lowering your carbon footprint dramatically when you drive one. Especially if you live in a large metropolis, you can feel good about not adding to the air pollution around you.

Looking at a Tesla Map you can see that there are charging stations just about everywhere so recharging is as convenient as getting gas is in a traditional car.

And if you aren’t filling the tank with gas then it makes sense that they save you money. Or do they? Sure, you save a lot on gas but can that offset some of the other costs? And gas is at historic lows right now so the savings are not as apparent as they were a few years ago.

Electric cars have pros and cons but you do need to look at it realistically to understand if it is worth it to own an EV.

In this article, we will go over some of the things to keep in mind when it comes to electric vehicles and money savings.

High initial cost

Though prices have been falling over the last few years, the cost of electric cars is still higher than the average traditional car in the same class. Almost across the board the EV models cost more.

Since they have no emissions, many governments are trying to encourage people to buy them by offering generous tax cuts. There was a federal tax cut of $7,500 and then whatever local incentives which definitely brings the cost down.

Do the tax breaks bring the price down to be competitive with a gas powered car? Unfortunately, the costs are still going to be higher.

Even leasing costs more even though it is cheaper to get behind the wheel when leasing as opposed to buying. And this is a good option if you want to make sure that the latest tech that emerges every year doesn’t leave you behind in an outdated car.

No paying for gas

Gas prices are at a low not seen in a couple of decades. Right now that means that there isn’t as big a savings on gas as there had been. Although, it is likely a temporary thing. Gas prices are highly dependent on a number of moving parts that are difficult to understand. Which means that we could see those spikes of a few dollars per gallon once again.

And when it does spike, there is almost always a surge in electric car sales along with it. Now, this is one case where electric cars are much cheaper. It doesn’t matter how much you are paying for electricity in your area and how low the gas prices are. Charging is much cheaper than paying for gas.

When gas prices go back up, then you will be even happier than ever that you have an electric car.

The one issue that ends up negating some of the savings on gas is that you have to buy a charging station for your home in almost every case. Unless of course you have a charging station at your work. This can cost a few thousand dollars so your gas savings won’t pay for the installation for a few years.

Maintenance

No oil changes, no filters to change and no wear and tear on engine parts means that maintaining your electric vehicle is very cheap.

Brakes are even more resistant to wear and tear as the engine slows itself down so you don’t need the brakes as much. Similar to how a manual transmission works.

There is one potential caveat to all of this, however. Most batteries are guaranteed for the first 100,000 miles of the car. After that, if a battery stops charging then you will be spending thousands to replace it. Now, this is not very likely to happen quickly after the 100,000 comes and goes, but it does also depend on the model of the car.

For instance, air cooled batteries don’t last as long as liquid cooled batteries. In any case, you should expect your batteries to last quite a while.

Another way that maintenance costs less, is that diagnostics can be done remotely. Your car likely has the computer linked to your dealer and will send reports to their server. When something looks amiss it will send an alert. If there is nothing reported as looking like it requires some maintenance, then you aren’t bringing your car in for routine checkups which save money and time.

What is a Wi-Fi Extender?

Wi-Fi extenders are sometimes called “repeaters” or “boosters” but the purpose is the same. A Wi-Fi extender stands between the wireless modem (router) and your computer by exchanging messages between them.

Of course, the way the Wi-Fi extender connects depends on the model. Generally, they are connected to the router initially in order to know where to transfer the internet. The extender must then be connected to a power source, an outlet between the router and the computer.

Once the extender is set to work, it creates its own Wi-Fi network where other devices connect. When you connect a device to it, all traffic passes through the Wi-Fi extender. When it receives traffic from the computer, it automatically passes it to the router where it was initially connected.

Use Wi-Fi expanders to cover long distances

In its most basic function, a Wi-Fi extender serves as a mediator for your computer and router. For example, if your computer is too far away from the router it will receive a weak signal that is displayed with a line in the Wi-Fi indicator. However, at the point where the repeater receives the signal, it can have average power, with two or three lines.

Before you buy an extender you should first try some things. Your signal may be weak due to router positioning. First, make sure they are in a good position. You can also modify the router itself by changing the channel to see if the signal will get better. You can also try changing antennas.

If nothing solves the problem, then you should try a Wi-Fi extender. Before you buy such a device, first check the old electronic devices for a router. Some of them can also serve as Wi-Fi extender. If even this method fails then you need to purchase a Wi-Fi extender.

What is a dual-band Wi-Fi extender/repeater?

While searching for Wi-Fi extenders, you’ll find some with names like “dual-band.” A device with this label means they cover the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. The 5Ghz band has higher traffic speeds than 2.4Ghz but the latter reaches higher distances and penetrates walls more easily. Dual-band extenders/repeaters are also good for the convenience of many devices. Some devices do not work at 5Ghz as for example a budget smartphone only operates at 2.4Ghz.

What do the numbers in the Wi-Fi extender/repeaters labels mean?

Where does a Netgear N300 Wi-Fi extender differ from a Netgear N600? The answer is simple. The N300 can transmit traffic at a maximum speed of 300Mbps while the N600 at 600Mbps.

The higher this number, the more traffic the Wi-Fi extender/repeater can transmit. If an extender has only one band, for example, 2.4Ghz, the maximum speed it can transmit is 300Mbps. If there are two bands, the speed will be higher. For example, a dual-band Wi-Fi extension N750 can transmit 300Mbps on the 2.4Ghz network and 400Mbps on the 5Ghz network.

The Criminal Justice Process in Colorado

Understanding the process of a criminal case can help relieve some of the stress and doubt of being charged with a crime. There are quite a few stages of the criminal justice process in Colorado. Below, I have outlined some steps that most people charged with a crime encounter.

  1. The Filing of Charges: The accused has to appear at court in order to officially receive charges. The judge counsels the accused about their rights, sets a bond (bail), and sets the next court appearance date. At this appearance, we can negotiate a reduction in bond on your behalf, amend protection orders, and remove or amend other conditions of your bond.
  2. The Preliminary Hearing (Felony matters): If the accused is charged with a more serious felony, then they are eligible for a preliminary hearing. During the hearing, the judge decides if there is a sufficient probable cause to allow further prosecution or not. It is very important that you have a Colorado criminal defense attorney present at this hearing to reveal critical discrepancies in witness testimony or to have charges dropped altogether.
  3. Arraignment: At this hearing, the accused must plead not guilty in order to have a trial. Pleading “not guilty” will suddenly start the clock running on specific deadlines based on the nature of the charges. Normally, deadlines apply to motions filing and the acceptance of a plea bargain. Municipal courts in the state compel the accused to pay a $25 jury fee within 21 days from the day they enter a “not guilty” plea. If the fee is not paid in the given time, the court will deny the accused a jury trial and will set the case for a bench (judge only) trial.
  4. The Disposition Hearing: This may be your Denver criminal defense attorney’s first chance to talk to the District Attorney regarding your case and a probable plea agreement. It could be risky for the accused to speak directly with the District Attorney. It is best to have a qualified lawyer speak to the prosecutor to reduce the risk of something being said that can create a problem for you later.
  5. Pretrial or Motions Hearings: As your case progresses, some issues may appear that must be resolved by the judge. Your attorney may want to suppress some or all of the evidence against you by filing motions. For instance, motions may be filed to disregard physical evidence or statements to the police. Also, motions can force the prosecutor to provide additional evidence or information that necessary for your defense.
  6. Trial: If no satisfactory plea agreement can be reached, then your case moves ahead for a trial. Everyone accused has the right to a “speedy trial.” This means the court must hear your trial within a definite time period. Municipal courts usually work under a 90-day speedy trial rule; County and District Courts work under a 180-day speedy trial rule.   7. Sentencing: If the accused is found guilty, the court will impose a sentence. These are all features that Apple introduced with iOS 14 and that are inspired by Android:

#1. Widgets and Home screen adjustment

Widgets are nothing new for the iPhone. Even before that, you could add weather widgets or news. In iOS 14 you can add it directly to the Home screen. They can even be placed on different parts of the screen. This level of customization is standard on Android and is finally coming to the iPhone.

#2. The App Library is identical to the Android app panel

For years, when an iPhone user downloaded an app, it always lived on the Home screen. There was no way to hide apps just by deleting them or putting them in the directory. On Android you can choose which apps to display and which not. With iOS 14 Apple has brought this concept. Applications can be removed from the Home screen without deleting them.

#3. Home screen assistants

To activate Siri on iPhone, you need to launch the Siri app. But when iOS 14 arrives this fall, you can call Siri directly from the Home screen. Instead of opening an app, Siri can be opened by tapping directly on the screen, something Android has been offering for years with Google Assistant.

#4. Video with floating windows

Differently known as Picture-in-picture, screen-floating videos like those of YouTube have long been part of Android. With iOS if you’ve been watching a video and someone sends you a message and you want to read it, iMessage opens and the video closes. With iOS 14 a floating video will appear if they leave the app where you are watching it while opening another app.

#5. A new translation application

The first thing that comes to mind when you want to translate something is Google Translate. The service is the same in the application but also on the web. With iOS 14 Apple challenges Google Translate with its translation service 14 years since the debut of Google’s rival.

#6. App Clips are simple Instant Apps on Android

A new iOS 14 option is App Clips. The idea is to open an app without downloading it completely. For example to pay for a parking with a parking application that you do not have. This feature has long been available on Android.

This new model is 125mm shorter than the previous model, while its design is inspired by the concept unveiled in 2018, the Opel GT X Experimental. The head of this firm, Mark Adams, said: “This is the design of Vauzhall’s future.“

The engine models to be used with the new Mokkan have not yet been revealed, but the new Peugeot 2008 engine is expected to be used, a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol with three versions, one with 99 horsepower and the other with 128 horsepower and the one with 153 horsepower. While the diesel model is 1.5 liters, which produces 99 horsepower, and later it is expected to increase the models of electric motors.
