Xiaomi Mi Mix 4

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 to Come with 100 MP Camera and 90Hz Display

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is again the protagonist of the rumor, thanks to new information coming from the Chinese social network Weibo.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The next Xiaomi range superphone should be announced in a few days – more specifically on September 24, according to recent reports – so we’re not surprised by the intensification of news leaks that allow us to track a fuller smartphone profile . And most important for all fans: Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 Price.

This time we are not discussing new specifications, but for further confirmation of those that have already appeared in the past. The reference goes specifically to the main camera, a sensor of over 100 MegaPixels – created in collaboration with Samsung – which adds a 90Hz refresh rate display, an advanced camera and 40W fast charge technology.

In short, it’s definitely a wide range of features that make the Mi Mix 4 a truly complete terminal in many respects. According to rumors, 40W charging can even happen wirelessly and should be part of the Mi Charge Turbo technology designed to exceed the Qi 20W charging limit – present for example in the Mi 9.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 Key Specs

This is obviously a very dangerous hypothesis and it is more likely that the mentioned 40W charging is done via cable rather than wireless. Recall that other specifications displayed so far suggest the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, up to 12 GB of RAM, up to 1TB of internal memory, 4,500 mAh battery and support for 5G networks.

The introduction of the Mi Charge Turbo and Mi Mix 4 is not long, so we just have to wait to find out which one will be at the top of the range specifications.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 Price

As for the price, it is thought that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will cost around $500, but nothing has been confirmed yet so follow us again for more information.

2020 Ferrari F8 Spider Revealed with More Power and Less Weight

Ferrari F8 Spider is a convertible version of the F8 Tributo, but also the successor to the Ferrari 488 Spider.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The car is stylishly complemented by the F8 Tributo, which differs from the rigid electro-folding roof and rear body, which had to be modified. The roof is raised or lowered for only 14 seconds, and both operations can be performed while the vehicle is in wolking, but only at speeds of up to 45 km/h.

Compared to its predecessor, the Spider 488, the Ferrari F8 Spider is 20kg less, and according to manufacturer Maranel, the car’s aerodynamics has improved by 10%. From zero to 100 km/h, the Ferrari F8 Spider accelerates in just 2.9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 340 km/h or 15 km/h more than the Spider 488.

F8 Spider is not the latest new model to be unveiled in 2019 by Ferrari, after the premiere of another cabriolet, the 812 Superfast Convertible, has been announced for September.

According to the AP, the Italian company executive promised to launch 15 new models in the period from 2019 to 2022 and significantly increase the average retail prices of cars.

Otherwise, the average price of Ferrari models last year was 274,000 euros.

Does Oculus Rift Work with MacBook Pro?

For a long time, there was only one way you could use a high profile VR on a Mac. In addition, that was by downloading and installing the Windows OS on the Mac. Alternatively, you could slot in your preferred NVIDIA card through an exterior enclosure but there was no getting away from Windows.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Apple for quite some time did not offer any GPU functionality that was companionable with advanced VR systems. I hope that things started looking up for MacBook users as Apple began offering VR graphics support for macOS High Sierra from 2017 fall. Since then, the majority of MacBook models have been updated and configured to support VR.

Apple announced at the 2018 WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) seminar that the newest HTC Vive Pro was compatible with macOS 10.14 Mojave.

Making your MacBook Pro compatible with Oculus Rift

The recent MacBook Pro models can work smoothly with the Oculus Rift but older models will still need an external graphics card. Take note purchasing a PC or a laptop (Acer Aspire V Nitro or Razer Blade) will be a more cost-effective option. Cutting to the chase, you will need a host of components for pairing the MacBook Pro with the Rift.

At the very least, you’ll have to get an NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics card or an AMD Radeon 290 graphics card. Your old version of Mac Pro will not get the juice to exploit VR technology in the absence of a graphics card. For getting the most out of the NVIDIA or AMD external graphics card, you’ll need a power supply and a PCIe Box.

You’ll indispensably need at least 8GB RAM along with two USB3.0 ports, one HDMI1.3 video port (sustaining a frequency of 297 MHz), and a connecting cable for linking the HDMI to the micro display port. Rounding up, you cannot do without the following components for making your MacBook Pro Rift compatible:-

  • An external graphics card
  • PCIe Box
  • Power supply
  • 8GB RAM
  • 2 x USB 3.0 ports
  • 1 HDMI port supporting a minimum of 297MHz frequency
  • Connecting cord or cable

Setting up the above components with the MacBook Pro

By looking at the list of components above, if you have already assumed that setting them up with the Mac might be a tall order then rest easy. Contrary to what you think, hooking up all the parts with the MacBook Pro is a simple DIY project. In this context, it would be worth mentioning that the components listed above, come with the most basic specifications.

Needless to say, if you go for external graphics cards with higher specifications, you’ll be able to take advantage of high-end VR features. Of course, you’ll have to shell out more for buying external AMD or NVIDIA graphics card having a higher specification. Before deciding to buy any component besides the ones mentioned above, make sure it will work with the MacBook Pro.

For connecting the hardware component, go through the following steps.

Set up Oculus Runtime files

For running the OS X, you will have to opt for Oculus SDK and the Oculus Runtime Files. Bear in mind that the Oculus Rift will not work if you do not download the files. Install the Runtime files after you are through with downloading them.

Look for the ‘World Demo’ field in the Oculus SDK that enables you to install the Rift appropriately. Check out and explore the features in the ‘World Demo’ section.

Download Freebies

Finally, for pairing the Rift with your MacBook Pro, log in at WearVR.com. Once you log in at the site, you will be able to download many software, games, and apps free.

HTC Vive is most compatible with MacBook Pro

SteamVR from Valve is the only major gaming platform that officially supports VR on macOS. Incidentally, Steam is one of the key distribution platforms for PCs as well as MAC. Towards this end, HTC and Valve collaborated to create the HTC Vive for making it compatible exclusively with SteamVR.

So, it goes without saying that HTC Vive is perfectly compatible for working with your MacBook Pro, more than Rift. The Vive furnishes far better game support than the Oculus Rift or any other VR headset for that matter. However, do not become discouraged when you see the HTC website still declares that the Vive does not work with MacBook models.

Apple made it known clearly at the WWDC 2018 convention that HTC Vive is compliant with macOS 10.14 Mojave. Unfortunately, you’ll struggle to find VR compatible Mac games on the SteamVR play store simply because there aren’t any. Mac aficionados will do well to take note that the most recent iMac Pros come with specifications for working with Rift without using any external graphics card or upgraded components.

Armored Bentley Bentayga

Bentley Bentayga For the First Time Turns into a Fully Armored Car

When reaching a higher level of wealth, having a luxury car is not enough – an armored car is needed to be safer while traveling.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

So far, we have seen many luxury cars like the BMW X5 or Audi RS7 turning into armored cars, without losing the original lines.

Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing, Canada, has been working on a Bentley Bentayga that has for the first time broken into a fully armored car, without changing its shape.

This Bentayga has a high level of ballistic protection, which keeps the gas tank, battery and technological control components out of risk.

According to the manufacturer, the car can survive the shotgun as well as crossing over the grenade, without damaging the bottom. Inside it continues to have the 6.0-liter engine that produces 600 horsepower, enabling it to go from zero to 100 kilometers per hour for four seconds.

Having a fully armored Bentley Bentayga costs as twice as the price of this car, as it costs 452,000 euros, just as it is very safe good.

Kirin 990 5G is Huawei's response to Samsung and Qualcomm processors

Kirin 990 5G is Huawei’s response to Samsung and Qualcomm processors

A few days ago Samsung revealed Exynos 980, the company’s first processor with a built-in 5G modem.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

In February, Qualcomm also revealed that it is developing a mobile platform with integrated 5G.

Today at the IFA 2019 Technology Fair, Huawei unveiled the Kirin 990 5G and calls it the first 5G processor in the industry. The new chip comes with radio technology that will prepare a host of future-standard devices even though Huawei still does not offer mmWave support.

Past 5G chips needed a separate modem. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, for example, is compatible with the 5G X50 modem but had a built-in LTE X24 model.

But this race in 5G would not make sense until more networks and devices were widely available, though this fact is not stopping companies from making statements.

Kirin 990 5G is a 7-nanometer chip with eight cores and has 10.3 billion transistors. It uses two large cores, two medium and four small ones to optimize the performance of several applications simultaneously at speeds of 2.86Ghz, 2.36Ghz and 1.95Ghz respectively.

990 5G also has a 16-core Mali G76 graphics card providing enough power for video games. But Huawei demands attention on 5G and Artificial Intelligence. The company says the Kirin 990 5G can reach speeds of up to 2.3Gbps in download and 1.25Gbps in upload.

By comparison, the 5G Snapdragon X55 modem can reach up to 7Gbps because Qualcomm supports mmWave technology and Huawei no. Qualcomm has not yet introduced a 5G integrated processor.

Kirin 990 5G neural processor can be used for tasks like voice and face recognition. The processor also includes a 5th generation image processor. Kirin 990 5G is expected to be unveiled at the company’s next flagship and until we see it on a real device it will be difficult to see its benefits.

Huawei has found a way to bypass US sanctions

While awaiting the debut of the Mate 30, Huawei today unveiled a redesigned version of the P30 Pro.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Unlike the existing P30 Pro, the new model comes with a tailgate made of two materials: glossy and matte as well as blue or lavender. While the design is new, the P30 Pro comes with pre-installed Android 10, Huawei’s smart way to launch a new product with Google’s latest operating system.

Like the existing P30 Pro model, the new colors retain the same Kirin 980 processor. Huawei today launched the Kirin 990 chip with a built-in 5G modem.

The processor will actually debut on the Mate 30 at the end of the month and is an interesting debut to follow. Last month Google revealed that the Huawei Mate 30 will not come with Google apps and services, which means it is not certified for the Google Play Store.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Mate 30 on September 19. The White House has banned US companies, such as Google, from doing business with Huawei, and the smartphone maker received a three-month permit in early May to continue delivering software updates.

The permit was extended for a further 3 months until November 19 but covers only existing equipment. Until the ban is lifted, Huawei has nothing more than to redesign the devices and add the latest version of the operating system for Europe and the US.

Understanding the Technology Behind the Hidden Infrastructure of Your Life

A lot of your life happens behind the scenes. In fact, it’s safe to say that the majority of your life happens in areas that you are not cognizant of. A good example of this concerns infrastructure. You assume that you go about your day and things just work. Your plumbing works. Your cell phone works.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

You can hook up to the Internet whenever you want. But have you ever thought about the hidden structural elements behind all of these daily habits of yours?

One way to appreciate your life more is to understand how some of these infrastructures are put into place and maintained all around you. Wastewater is a good example, as sewage systems hook into all of the waterworks of your house. Recognizing how cell phone towers are constructed is another big one. And even though you expect the Internet to work automatically, have you ever thought about why it works in the first place?

Wastewater Systems

When you turn the faucet on, you expect water to come out. When you flush the toilet, you expect the water to go down. And you are extremely frustrated when these things don’t happen as you expect. But when you look at the technology behind wastewater treatment or plumbing fixtures, you’ll be fascinated to see how it all works together.

Civil engineers are truly brilliant. They create systems that handle the basic necessities of life so that you don’t have to worry about them not working. It’s usually only when the system breaks that you start thinking about it, and that’s not necessarily a good thing.

Cell Phone Towers

Everyone complains about bad cell service every once in a while. But what about no cell service at all? If no one ever built cell phone towers, then none of the communication structure that’s in place right now would be present.

The technology behind cell phone systems is truly incredible, and a number of public and private companies have spent billions of dollars creating this infrastructure so that you can watch YouTube whenever you want or reliably send and receive text messages.

The Internet

The Internet has changed your life. Perhaps for the better, or maybe sometimes it feels like for the worse. But regardless, the fact that you are connected to the world’s knowledge along with the world’s ignorance creates a different world for you to live in.

But do you know how the Internet’s network actually functions? If not, you are missing out on a big piece of wisdom regarding the secret infrastructure of your life. Even with a few hours of research, you will have a few moments of striking comprehension regarding the state of modern conductivity.
