These are the new photos of the 2020 BMW X6 ahead of the public debut of the crossover at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. But it will probably torment you to find the car in the picture, as it is coated with Vantablack VBx2 color.
Is There something special about this color that makes you wonder if it’s blacker than that? And the answer is no. The substance absorbs more than 99% of the visible light making it the blackest color in the world.
BMW has partnered with manufacturers Vantablack Surrey Nano Systems, and agency Levitation 29, to create the world’s darkest X6. Instead of using camouflage or extra panels, this extremely dark color is intended to make the crossover difficult to discern.
The third generation of the BMW X6 has a look similar to the previous one. The versions for this model are: sDrive40i with active rear tires and xDrive40i with all active tires. Both use the 3.0-liter inline-6 engine that produces 335 horsepower and 447 Nm of torque.
There’s also the X6 M50i version with the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that offers 523 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Regardless of the engine, the car has eight-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing starts at $65,290 for the sDrive40i version, $67,595 for the xDrive40i, and $86,465 for the M50i.
