BMW is close to debuting the new M3, but those who are looking for an alternative the German manufacturer will offer a new B3 model modified by Alpina.
The car was introduced first in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and debuted on Wednesday at the Tokyo Motor Show but this time in detail.
Inside is a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine in line, the same engine found on the M340i. The turbocharger delivers the power of this engine to 462 horsepower.
With such numbers we expect the Alpina B3 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4 seconds and generate a top speed of 300 km/h.
Compared to the M3, the latter will have a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine and 503 horsepower.
Beyond the extra power, the Alpina will also have chassis modifications. In collaboration with ZF, the Alpina B3 has a 3-series gearbox with 8-gear and higher shift speeds.
Alpina B3 also has a four-wheel drive system. Brakes and amortization systems have been updated. The car can be ordered from today as the first deliveries starts in 2020.
