1. What type of engagement ring do you have?
The first question you should ask yourself is what type of engagement ring you have. Most people like to have a matching wedding set (including an eternity ring). So if you have a diamond engagement ring, you will most likely be looking for a diamond wedding ring too.
2. What type of wedding ring are you looking for?
If you don’t want to have a matching wedding set, then the next question to ask yourself is what you are looking for. What is your own taste in jewellery? What do you like? What do you need? Do you want something that stands out, or something that is more discreet? Remember that you need to balance your own tastes with practicality. Your job may not allow for the type of ring that you want.
3. Will the rings fit together?
This may seem like an odd thing to think about. Remember that your engagement and wedding rings go on the same finger. They both need to fit comfortably. Why don’t you try some stackable wedding rings out? These rings fit together comfortably on the finger.
4. What type of stones do you want?
Diamonds are seen as the norm for engagement and wedding rings. This doesn’t mean you have to buy a diamond ring. What type of precious or semi-precious stones do you like? They might be a bit harder to find than diamonds, but they are definitely there.
5. What colours do you want?
What colour of ring do you want? Do you want it to match your engagement ring? There are so many different types of metal in rings now. You can have whatever you want! There is so much choice available.
6. Look for variety
When you are looking for wedding rings, look for sites and shops that have variety. They are more likely to have what you are looking for. Even if they don’t have that, they might have something else that catches your eye. You never know.
7. Be open-minded
Try not to be too caught up in looking for your dream wedding ring. You might find yourself missing some wonderful rings. Keep an open mind when looking for the perfect wedding ring. You might fall in love with a gorgeous ring you hadn’t ever considered before.
8. Have a strict budget
Wedding rings can be expensive. Everything to do with a wedding can be expensive! When you are looking for a ring, set yourself a budget. Make sure that you stick to that budget no matter what! Setting a budget will help by reducing the number of rings you have to choose from!
9. Shop around
Unless you are absolutely one hundred percent certain that you want a particular ring, try and shop around. It’s always a good idea to see what is available before you commit. You might find a site or a shop that has exactly what you want at the price you want. You never know.
10. Have fun
This is supposed to be a fun experience. Don’t make it into a stress-filled journey. Take your time; enjoy the beautiful jewellery. The rings are all lovely to look at, even if you aren’t buying them.
