Google has updated the Gmail app for iOS and Android with support for AMP technology, giving users the ability to interact with emails as if they were dynamic web pages without having to open an external browser.
The feature rolled out on Friday and comes after a presentation in July. Google gives some examples of what this innovation can be used for.
The search engine says you can use it to RSVP to events, manage subscriptions or respond to comments on Google Docs without sending an individual email.
So the feature makes it possible for emails to be updated dynamically, which means it’s hard to come up with outdated information. Even though Google is the one promoting the use of AMP, other companies are also supporting it. Microsoft for example has launched AMP support for Outlook.com
