AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X

That’s all we know about the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X

AMD’s newest CPU has some fantastic parameters

The tech community has long debated which company is the best choice for your processor, AMD or Intel. However, with the unveiling at AMD’s CES 2020 of the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X, the first 64-core processor for general consumers, there seems to be no room for debate.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

When talking about a 64-core processor, you usually think of CPUs used in servers and data centers, and it’s not very common for such a powerful CPU to come to anyone’s home. It will definitely be fantastic for content creators according to AMD CEO, Dr. Lisa Su. As such, they will be able to stream, render and upload videos faster than ever before.

Here are the key parameters of AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X:

  • 64 CPU cores
  • 128 threads
  • 2.9GHz base clock
  • Up to 4.3GHz max boost clock
  • 256MB total L3 cache
  • 32MB total L2 cache
  • 4MB total L1 cache

64 cores and 128 threads make rendering different media very fast. If you have multiple programs running at once, 88 PCIe 4.0 total lanes will help you meet the high demands of your GPU and memory. Cache L1, L2 and L3 will help you access large databases quickly.

The 3990X comes unlocked, which gives you the ability to overclock. This CPU has broken records, even though it’s only been a while since it’s been launched. An overclocker even managed to bring the 64 cores of this CPU to 5.5GHz.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X was launched on February 7th and costs $3990.

Qualcomm Revealed Snapdragon 720G, 662, and 460: The new Processors for Mid-Range phones

Qualcomm’s latest 4G chipsets feature Wi-Fi 6 connectivity

2020 is the year when 5G is expected to make a difference in people’s lives but 4G LTE networks will not go anywhere for several years.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

We can say without a doubt that for the next few years there will be defaults to Internet access, and based on these forecasts Qualcomm introduced three new processors focused on 4G phones.

The company unveiled Snapdragon 720G, 662 and 460 models, all of which share similar features as support for WiFi 6 technology.

The Snapdragon 720G eight-core model is the most powerful and will be included in high-end but not flagship phones like the Galaxy S20. The letter “G” in its designation means it is focused on gaming, bringing the 10-bit HDR Qualcomm offers to the flagship Snapdragon 855 processor.

The chip also has a Hexagon 692 DSP for IA operations on the phone plus support for 4K video at 2520 × 1080 resolutions. Perhaps the most interesting detail is the LTE X15 modem with download speeds of up to 800Mbps.

The Snapdragon 662 is a shrunken version of the 720G. It is an eight-core chip and 2Ghz frequency compared to 2.3Ghz at 720G but has only an X11 modem LTE with theoretical speeds of up to 390Mbps. Qualcomm says the chip has support for triple camera systems.

The Snapdragon 469 already uses the same LTE modem but a less powerful IA engine. However, compared to the Snapdragon 450, the new chip is 50% faster.

The future is 5G, but Qualcomm wants to keep 4G customers happy.

i9-10990XE

Intel is preparing a 22-core i9-10990XE processor against the Threadripper

22 cores to counter Ryzen Threadripper?

Rumors suggest Intel plans to launch a 22-core Cascade Lake processor, named the i9-10990XE, which adds four more cores to the company’s more powerful Cascade Lake-X model to compete with the Ryzen Series, AMD’s Threadripper 3000, reports Overclock3D.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Pictures of this processor appeared in the benchmarking of the CPU-Z application, and were subsequently published by the Chiphell site. Subsequently, Computerbase further confirmed that the motherboard makers had mentioned the 22-core processors during the CES 2020.

Intel i9-10990XE processor will have a working CPU boost boost that can reach up to 5GHz. At the moment, the TDP of the processor is listed as 380W but this has not been confirmed.

Although Intel has not officially confirmed plans to launch the processor with a larger number of cores on its X299 platform, it is clear that motherboards makers want to see more cores in Intel processors by 2020.

It should be noted that the results of Cinebench have also been published, but they are extremely easy to manipulate and falsify, so the information published about the Intel i9-10990XE processor should be taken with reserve.

ADATA XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD reaches read speed of 7 GB/s

During the CES 2020, ADATA introduced the XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD, which uses the Innogrit Rainier controller (IG5236). The above controller can support up to 16TB of storage and use an eight-channel interface.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Although Innogrit is an unfamiliar name (compared to Phison’s most commonly used controllers), the performance it offers is at a high level. The ADATA CrystalDisk benchmark shows sequential read and write performance of 7.2 GB/sec and close to 5.4 GB/sec for XPS Sage.

According to the Tom’s Hardware site, which was able to test the XPG Sage, ADATA also highlights random IOPS speeds of 1,000,000 and 800,000 for data read and write, respectively. Additionally, it is suggested that sequential speeds of 6 GB/sec can be easily achieved with some firmware changes before SSDs go into mass production.

Other features of the SSD ADATA XPG Sage PCIe 4.0 SSD include 4GB of DRAM cache, integrated heat conductors, and SSDs up to 4TB capacity. It is expected that the XPG Sage will not be released before June.
