Motorola Razr

Meet Razr, the Motorola’s folding phone with the design of 90s

The Lenovo-owned brand, Motorola unveiled a new version of the Razr phone. It has a touch screen on the inside, no keyboard but folds in half into a shell design of the 90’s and early 2000’s.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The phone will go on sale in the US in January for $1,499 while orders start on December 26th. Razr is the latest example of the trend of phones with folding screens. Comes after Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X and Xiaomi Mi Flex.

The goal is to create a phone that even acts as a tablet when you open it but Motorola has chosen a different approach. It looks like a normal phone when opened and small enough to fit in a pocket when folded.

Locked Razr has a 2.7-inch display which shows basic things like text messages, emails, incoming calls, mobile payments, music controls and camera. Can even call Google with the command “Ok Google” when it’s closed. The unlocked phone has a 6.2-inch screen. Motorola says the screen is protected using a shaft with no space in between.

But for $1,500 you should expect more power. Motorola has integrated a Snapdragon 710 chip instead of the flagship model Snapdragon 855. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, on a device that is 205gr in weight.

The foldable Moto RAZR features a 6.2-inch POLED display, foldable with 2142 x 876 pixels HD resolution and 21: 9 Cinemavision display ratio. The 2.7-inch external GOLED display with a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio will serve as a notification screen.

To power everything is a 2,510mAh battery  with 15W TurboPower and Android 9 Pie. There are two cameras in the phone: a main, 16MP and a 5MP selfie.

Intel Xe graphics card spotted on GFXBench base

The first Intel graphics cards based on Xe architecture are expected in 2020. The first testing phase for GPUs has been completed, while Intel’s latest financial reporting highlights that it is a significant achievement for the company, reports Guru3D.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Now in the GFXBench database is showcased the device labeled “Graphics gfx-driver-user-feature_dg1_poweron-27723 DCH ReleaseInternal“. The “dg1” label is an abbreviation for Discrete Graphics 1 and has been related to Intel Xe architecture for some time now.

No concrete benchmarking tests have been performed (or they are simply hidden), but this is certainly a testament to the functionality of the device’s GPU and driver.

Rumors point to 512 EU (execution units) for the XE graphics card, which should deliver similar performance to the Geforce RTX 2080. Intel Xe graphics cards are expected to be available non later than mid-2020.

Apple unveiled the laptop that will end MacBook keyboard problems

Apple on Wednesday unveiled a new 16-inch MacBook Pro laptop that will replace the 15-inch MacBook Pro.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

But what matters most is Apple’s redesigned keyboard for the first time since 2015. And this is great news because past MacBook keyboards had a mechanism called a butterfly that had a mountain of problems.

With the promise that problems with the keyboard have been fixed, headaches for Apple can also go away.

Here’s what you need to know about the new 16-inch MacBook Pro which will retail for $2,399.

The Keyboard

Apple was heavily criticized by industry experts for spending four years producing a laptop keyboard that malfunctioned for all users. This generation of keyboards may have been one of the worst products in the company’s history.

The 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro has a new style that goes back to the design of old keyboards. In the first tests the analysts are satisfied but only time will tell.

The company claims to have created the best keyboard for a MacBook ever. For this he used the inspiration of the Magic Keyboard keyboard for Mac desktops. The buttons are deeper, which means you can feel more when you push them.

Finally Apple added an “ESC” button to the keyboard by trimming the “Touch Bar” touch panel at the top.

A good but expensive experience

But there is much more to be said about the laptop. MacBook Pro models are built for those who want more power but also better screens for photo and video editing. The screen is very important for this category of users, so Apple made it the largest screen on a 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop.

This means that the screen frames are 34% smaller than with previous versions. It’s sharp, high-gloss screen. Apple also says of this component that it is the best it has ever produced.

Apple has added the 9th generation of Intel processors and improved graphics from AMD 5300 to 5500. The company has increased battery power and life expectancy. The previous model had 10 hours while the 16-inch MacBook Pro a full of 11 hours. Weighs 1.9 pounds.

The USB-C port can charge the battery in 2.5 hours. In addition to the keyboard a novelty of this model are the new speakers which sound like no other laptop. The built-in microphone has also been upgraded, and Apple says it’s enough to record podcasts without any additional accessories.

But there are some things that have not changed like the trackpad that is the same. Users will get four USB-C ports and FaceTime cameras that haven’t changed since last year.

Price and availability of 16-inch MacBook Pro

Apple will sell two 16-inch MacBook Pro models that you can upgrade with additional memory that drastically increases the price. For example you can add up to 8TB of memory, the highest ever placed on a laptop.

The $2,399 base configuration comes with an Intel Core 6-core processor, 512GB SSD and ADM Radeon 5300 graphics. A $2,799 model includes 8-core processor, 1TB of memory and AMD 5500 graphics.

MSI announced three TRX40 motherboards

MSI has announced three TRX40 motherboards for the third generation of Threadripper processors. The boards are intended for professionals and creators and include the Creator TRX40, TRX40 PRO 10G and TRX40 PRO WIFI models, KitGuru reports.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

MSI Creator TRX40 is the premium model in this offering, while the company points out that the motherboard comes with a new cooling solution, with a large VRM heat conductor. Heatsink and frozr fan are used for chip cooling, while protection for on-board sound hardware and dual M.2 Shield, which keeps the SSD temperature under control, are also present.

MSI’s PCIe 4.0 lines offer 64 GB/s of data traffic, enabling plenty of support for PCIe 4.0 SSDs. In addition, the M.2 XPANDER-AERO add-in card offers the option of connecting four M.2 SSDs to a single card, with data transfer speeds of 64 GB/s.

VRM uses 16 stages, while the MSI Core Boost function is coming back. Finally, the Creator TRX40 has 19 USB ports, two LAN ports (including 10G Super LAN connection), and Wi-Fi 6 support.

TRX40 PRO 10G and TRX40 PRO WIFi are very similar motherboards. Again the M.2 XPANDER card for SSD is offered, the new cooling solution for tiles. The differences are that PRO 10G offers 10G LAN, while PRO WIFI has on-board Wi-Fi 6.

The price of MSI TRX40 motherboards has not been announced, and should go on sale later in the month.

Gigabyte Announces Radeon RX 5700 XT AORUS Edition GPU

Gigabyte has fulfilled its promise and created the AORUS edition based on the AMD Navi GPU 10. The new graphics card will have three fans and a triple slot design. It is expected that this model will be faster than the existing RX 5700 Gaming series, reports Videocardz.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Most importantly, the AORUS RX 5700 is proof that Gigabyte has not given up the market destined for the most advanced users and enthusiasts. The latest AORUS Radeon graphics card that was launched was the RX 580 (Polaris 20 XTR) while the company did not launch the Radeon RX 590 AORUS.

Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT AORUS Edition graphics card is based on RDNA architecture and will be available within a few weeks (late November/early December).

The first photos of MSI TRX40 motherboard

Information on AMD’s TRX40 platform is becoming more and more frequent, with MSI motherboard photos now intended to support the next generation of Threadripper processors, according to Overclock3D.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

MSI TRX40 Pro WiFi and TRX40 Pro 10G motherboards were showcased online, with photos provided by @KOMACHI_ENSAKA on Twitter. Like other TRX40 motherboards, which have appeared earlier, MSI models also use dual channel DIMMs with four channels and have large VRM heat conductors.

The MSI solution also has improved cooling chips, which suggests that the company’s motherboards will support PCIe 4.0, like most of AMD’s X570 motherboards.

The differences between the TRX40 Pro WiFi and TRX40 Pro 10G models are their internet connection options – the TRX40 Pro WiFi has built-in Wi-Fi card, while the TRX40 Pro 10G uses a 10Gb Ethernet add-on card. There is currently no information about the release date and pricing of these motherboards.

Dangerous applications that act as antivirus have received 1.66 billion downloads on Android

If you need more proof that downloading free Android apps from unknown developers VPNpro has an answer.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The latest firm’s research exposed six dangerous antivirus applications that have 1.66 billion downloads in the Play Store.

The problem is with the permissions required by these so-called security applications that are not required by a genuine antivirus application.

It’s about getting permission to control your location, your camera and even using your phone without your knowledge. VPN Pro says applications like Virus Cleaner, Security Master and Clean Master have been revealed with malware in the past and are still available on Play store collecting millions of installations.

If you want to download a security app then you need to go for a popular brand that you are familiar with. Free applications are free for a reason because if you are not paying for them then someone else is paying.
