More lights, more power, more screens.
This sounds like the wish list of a PC player wanting to buy a new computer. HP aims to meets these requirements – packaged in the Omen X2S gaming notebook.
The most striking feature is the second screen on the keyboard. It is designed to help players keep a close eye on system performance, YouTube videos, or whatever you want to do besides playing.
Once opened, the logo on the screen cover begins to glow red, the keyboard blinks red, and the second screen launches. It all happens at the same time and the fans shake at the same time, you have the feeling of throwing a spaceship’s cabin into a science fiction movie.
The Omen X2S tested is the 15-dg0901ng configuration (2,999 euro MSRP). It has a 240Hz FullHD display. The X2S is also available with a 4K display.
The second screen
The second screen also has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and a screen ratio of 16: 9. In contrast to the main screen, it is reflective and a touch screen.
The X2S has 3 USBs and a USB 3.1-C port, which also serves as DisplayPort 1.4. There’s also an HDMI 2.0 and Ethernet connection, as well as the mandatory 3.5mm audio connection. SSD is 1TB in size.
X2S is well equipped with 16 GB of RAM and an i7 Gen 9 . A GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q contributes the necessary graphics performance.
