Nvidia Arm Buy

Nvidia close on buying Arm for $40 billion?

The deal consists of a combined cash and stock transaction believed to value ARM up to $40 billion

Japanese conglomerate SoftBank is close on selling British chipmaker ARM to Nvidia for $40 billion, the Wall Street Journal, and Reuters reported. The deal would create a new superpower that Intel has to face and is likely to be reached next week.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The terms under discussion would mark a major victory for SoftBank, which bought ARM four years ago for $32 billion and was trying to start growing its business. ARM and Nvidia have been in exclusive talks for several weeks and an agreement could be signed early next week, said people close to the issue – assuming the deal will not be canceled at the last minute.

ARM is the company that designs almost every chip found today in our phones and tablets manufactured by companies like Qualcomm, Apple, Samsung but also Intel. The sale of the company would be good news for the competition in this industry where Intel has enjoyed dominance for several decades that is currently being threatened by AMD as well.

Nvidia is already known for producing graphics chips and has recently been involved in artificial intelligence. If Nvidia buys it there will be a new imbalance of power in the chip industry providing access to the most popular mobile processor architecture.

Motorola Razr

Motorola re-launches the Razr model, which now supports 5G but again costs a lot

Now will cost 1,399, which is only $100 less than its predecessor

Earlier this year, Motorola launched the Razr model, modernizing the famous Android phone brand which was offered with a foldable screen priced at $1,500. Now, Motorola is trying to re-launch the updated second-generation Razr model phone, to which it has also added support for 5G network, better cameras, and a more useful software.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Apparently foldable smartphones are interesting to the consumer and are building their market as innovative products like Motorola’s Razr. Motorola says that for this product has listened to the opinions of users and has reflected the changes in the Razer 2.

The shape in general continues to remain faithful to the classic of a few decades ago. The foldable screen this time is 6.2-inch OLED and another secondary “Quick View” screen 2.7-inch OLED on the outside which allows users to view key notifications and other features. The new Snapdragon 765G processor adds 5G which unfortunately is only sub-6 and mmWave faster. RAM has been increased to 8GB from 6gb to the previews model, the internal memory has been doubled to 256GB and the battery is larger at 2,800 mAh.

The most noticeable changes are the position of the fingerprint sensor on the back and also the cameras. The first Razr cameras were 5MP selfie and 16MP main one and the results left much to be desired. This time the internal camera will be a 20MP sensor and the rear 48MP with a new laser for autofocus ToF and optical stabilization.

Lastly, Motorola has done well to follow Samsung‘s example by adapting many aspects of its software with the ability to bend at the screen. Google Maps, YouTube, and some games are part of these adaptations.

But the bad news is that the Razr comes high again, now goes to $1,399, which is only $100 less than its predecessor.

Xbox Series S

The Xbox Series S will be cheap but is it worth it?

The smallest Xbox ever will cost $299

Microsoft has revealed to us everything we need to know about the next-generation console, the Xbox Series X, and among other things informed us that a more modest version will also come under the name Series S about which nothing was known until now.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

It was not long before Microsoft itself finally confirmed it. The smallest Xbox ever will cost $299. But more than the price, what we are interested in is definitely what this device is capable of, in the end, Microsoft says that both consoles will have almost the same performance. At that price difference will be hard to believe.

Another video leaked finally clarifies our doubts and everything makes sense.

The Xbox Series S will be a single digital version without disks, a move followed by the PS5, but what worries us is actually the console SSD which according to the video will be 512GB.

A part of this space will be occupied by the operating system. Also, the new generation games are expected to increase the space they require available in relation to the quality, so very little space is provided for games. Just think GTA V is 45GB, in total, you will not be able to download more than 10 games on this console. And if you are going to download something else, you do not have the previously downloaded and paid games.

The solution from Microsoft comes in the form of the Project xCloud platform which allows you to stream them without having to download, from a catalog of more than 100 titles. But of course for this service, you have to pay a certain subscription fee.

So in these conditions is it really worth buying the Xbox Series S? Is it really cheaper? Of course, we still remain in the circle of speculation, nothing officially has been confirmed.

In addition to the Xbox Series X, Microsoft yesterday unveiled the budget model of the Xbox Series S. The latter will cost $299 but has enough power for 1440p up to 120fps. But if you are looking to play 4K games then the Xbox Series X is a must and offers enough hardware while costing 2 times less than a gaming computer.

Microsoft also talked about the titles that will come to Project xCloud, the platform where players play in the cloud and that debuts on September 15th. The platform has been in the testing phase since September 15th.

Android 11 brings a host of new features but generally focuses less on adding new features and more on the management of many things your smartphone can do. Among the most important updates is the notifications section, new media controls, new interface for screenshots, tighter permissions for applications, etc. The operating system has added a new bubble-like interface similar to Facebook Messenger.

But despite the fact that a large number of smartphones will get the new system from now on, a number of options remain exclusive to Pixel, such as the location-sharing option in AR, Smart Reply in Gboard, and intelligently renamed files.

The final version is now ready to be downloaded on Pixel 2, 3, 3A, 4, and 4A. OnePlus also confirmed its debut on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Google promises that more partners will join the launch in the coming days.

As for the display, the phone packs a 6.67-inch 1080p IPS panel (HDR10, FHD+, Gorilla Glass 5) with a 120Hz refresh rate. Since it is LCD it does not have the brightness and contrast of OLED which is also used in mid-range devices. Using this panel means that the fingerprint scanner can not be placed on the screen and Xiaomi has chosen to implement it on the power button. While in the gaming mode the phone’s screen works at 120Hz, it’s DynamicSwitch feature switch it at the conventional 60Hz refresh rate during general usage like video playback, etc.

Inside the phone is a Snapdragon 732G processor, which clocks at 2.3GHz, 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 64 or 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal memory. The new SoC offers a soft upgrade over the Snapdragon 730G binging a clock speed boost to the CPU cores as well as the GPU. POCO X3 NFC features an iquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus which offers 70% larger heat pipe than its predecessor technology. This new technology can cut down by 6 degrees Celsius the internal heat.

At the camera department, Poco as chosen a quad-camera setup on the back featuring a 64MP main sensor (Sony IMX682), a 13MP ultra-wide shooter (119-degree field of view), and a pair of 2MP sensors for macro shots and depth effects respectively. The selfie camera is 20-megapixel in a “punch-hole” center-mounted setup.

Poco X3 NFC packs a massive 5,160mAh battery and you can expect two days of “moderate” usage as a result, according to company claims. It supports 33W wired charging and you can expect a 63% juice after 30 minutes of charging while a full charge takes 65 minutes. The phone comes with a 33W charger included in the box.

Other notable features worth mention includes a 3.5mm port, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, MIUI 12 based on Android 10, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 5. For more, Xiaomi will offer three years of updates, probably this will include MIUI updates and not OS upgrade.

New Intel ‘Tiger Lake’ 11th Gen Core processors for thinner and lighter laptops unveiled

Intel 11th Gen “Tiger Lake” Processors will make new laptops thinner and lighter

Along with the new processors, Intel unveiled the Intel Evo which should make it easier for consumers to find the laptop they are looking for and get the most out of it.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

While it remains disappointing that the company has not made progress in terms of 7-nanometer architecture like competitor AMD, Intel is trying to make the 11th generation of processors more appealing to consumers.

Intel Evo is Intel’s “ultrabook” initiative. 11th generation Intel Evo certified laptops will wake up in less than 1 second, have 9 hours on a 1080p display battery life, and fast charging technology.

But let’s talk about new processors. Tiger Lake chips come in two packages: one with 12 to 28-watt and one with 7 to 14-watt. Thanks to this manufacturers have more flexibility in designs.

The fastest Tiger Lake chip will be the i7-1185G7 with Intel Xe graphics and speeds between 3 and 4.8Ghz Turbo. For laptops, the fastest processor is the i7-1160G7 with Iris Xe graphics and 1.2 to 4.4Ghz Turbo frequency. Overall you will notice up to 20% more processor performance and graphics compared to the previous generation Ice Lake.

As for Xe graphics, they are not a replacement for a discrete graphics card for gaming fans, but Intel showed impressive levels of performance. For example, they compared an 11th generation processor to Xe graphics and the Nvidia MX350 where the first generated 55fps and the latter 50fps. AMD Ryzen 4800U reached a maximum of 31fps.

To achieve a higher frequency than the previous generation, Intel has used a transistor processing process called “SuperFin”. Intel says these processors represent the biggest improvement in performance and speed over a generation. A 7-nanometer architecture would definitely be what we expect from Intel, however, the company still finds potential in 10-nanometers.

The new Tiger Lake processors debut today in several laptop models from the manufacturer ASUS, Dell, and Acer.

Qualcomm brings the best of smartphones into laptops with Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G

At IFA 2020 the company introduced the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G which promises significant improvements

Exactly in time ahead of IFA Berlin Qualcomm introduces the new generation of Snapdragon Compute chips. The Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G will bring up to 50% better performance, battery lasting several days, 5G connectivity, better security, and AI capabilities compared to the previous platform.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The 5G connection works with both mmWave and Sub-6, it will have multi-gigabit and Wi-Fi 6.and supports Bluetooth 5.1 The audio and camera experience has also been improved, while the “Aqstic” system cancels out echoes and noises to dim the outside environment. As for the camera, the processor aims to bring better performance to the PC, as it can support recording up to 4K HDR and cameras up to 32MP.

Two 4K screens can be supported with a single USB-C cable. Qualcomm’s AI Engine will also be included in AI options such as “accelerated eye contact” in video calls and others will be used for business meetings.

Qualcomm did not explain the improvements compared to the previous generation but is more interested in comparing it to Intel processors. Specifically, it claims that the 8cx Gen 2 has the same performance as a 10th generation Intel Core i5 chip.

In terms of mobile connectivity, the 8cx Gen 2 has the same X24 LTE and X55 5G modem as the first model, but it remains in the hands of the device manufacturer what to put and what to leave. Although the first 8cx model debuted in December 2018, the first 5G laptops only started coming this year. As for the 8cx Gen 2, Qualcomm says we will see the first devices starting this year with the Acer Spin 7, Acer’s first 5G laptop.

Samsung has chosen a different path, of a 5G laptop with 11th generation Intel processor and the company’s own 5G modem.
