Oppo Reno Ace 2 has the world’s fastest wireless charging technology

40W wireless, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 wired

While OnePlus left its mark few days ago with the debut of they new flagship with 30W wireless charging technology, the sister company Oppo made an advantageous move.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

Oppo introduced the Reno Ace 2, the world’s first smartphone with 40W wireless charging technology, which it calls “AirVOOC” and charges the 4,000 mAh battery in 56 minutes. Like its predecessor Find X2 Pro, the phone has 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charging via cables reducing this process to 30 minutes.

Known for its 10W reverse wireless charging feature, the Reno Ace 2 maintains the fastest charging time for normal and wireless charging among commercially available smartphones.

Just last month, Xiaomi demonstrated its 40W wireless charging technology with a modified Mi 10 Pro (which initially makes 30W), and its 4,000mAh battery apparently only took 40 minutes to fully charge. We’ll see if Xiaomi can stay on track with the release of their next big smartphone.

Let’s not forget that there is also the “Wireless Super FlashCharge 60W” by Vivo that may arrive later this year, although it is not clear how soon it will be for a battery of the same size.

Oppo Reno Ace 2 Specs

The rest of the Reno Ace 2 is what we expect from a flagship smartphone based on the Snapdragon 865 platform. It has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz, 180Hz touch and HDR10+. All of this has become a sandwich between Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. Unfortunately, the headphone jack has disappeared this time.

As for the rear cameras, we see a 48 megapixel f/1.7 main camera with a Sony IMX586 sensor, an ultra wide 8 megapixel camera and two 2-megapixel cameras with special effects, one for good quality portraits, and one for the effects of light. The hole-punch selfie camera is 16-megapixel.

Reno Ace 2 Prices and Availability

The Reno Ace 2 comes in gray, silver or purple, and just like its predecessor got a Gundam edition, this time we can expect a special edition Evangelion in the near future.

For now, the phone starts at 3,999 yen or about $570 for RAM 8 GB LPDDR4X and storage 128 GB UFS 3.0, then at 4,599 yen or about $650 for RAM 12 LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB. As for the optional AirVOOC wireless charger (which doubles as a 10W Qi charger), it requires 249 jen or about $35.

Preliminary orders are already open in China before the April 20 launch.

Apple’s 2020 iPhone SE is surprisingly powerful for that price

Apple iPhone SE may look out of fashion, but it has a lot of strong features inside

With devices like the iPhone XR and iPhone 11, Apple has tried and managed to bring some of the best features of a smartphone for a reasonable price. This important work continues with the new iPhone SE model, which Apple has said will be available for pre-order on Friday, April 17th.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

There’s a lot to say, but the iPhone SE has always been a price-fixing phone, so let’s clarify that first. Apple’s latest smartphone is available in black, white and red, with the following storage settings:

  • 64GB: $399
  • 128GB: $449
  • 256GB: $549
iPhone SE Color Variants

It is worth noting that the basic SE model costs $50 less than the iPhone 8 that Apple has stopped producing. This puts Apple in a strong position to compete in the mid-range market, which is very good news for iOS fans who don’t have a lot of budget. The last time Apple introduced a similar product was in 2016 with the iPhone SE, a device that brought the modern performance of the time to the body of the iPhone 5s.

As many leaks have suggested, this approach has not changed for SE either. In many ways it’s practically the iPhone 11 introduced in the body of the iPhone 8. Again we’re working with a 4.7 inch Retina display, IP67 for resistance to sand and water, a classic Touch ID sensor, wireless charging and one rear camera. However, the most important thing is that you will be able to buy a cheap iPhone with the A13 Bionic chipset, Apple’s latest model. This is the same one used on the iPhone 11, 11Pro and 11Pro Max.

Left: the new iPhone SE. Right: the iPhone 8

As usual, Apple looks very excited about the iPhone SE’s camera: It’s a 12-megapixel camera with a standard sensor, which bears many similarities to the main cameras used in the iPhone 11. There’s no Night Mode here, but you’ll have Smart HDR and noise-reduction to help low-light shots. Also if videos are a high priority for you, SE also records at 4K at 60 fps. Meanwhile you will use the 7-megapixel front camera for selfies.

In short the iPhone SE may look out of fashion, but it has a lot of strong features inside it and a very accessible package of options. It remains to be seen how the public and the market will react to this product.

Apple iPhone SE officially unveiled starting at $399

The iPhone SE is now back

Apple Inc. this Wednesday launched a smaller iPhone for $399, lowering the price line of the company’s smartphones greatly in an effort to expand its reach to lower-income consumers at the time when the economy is declining as a result of coronavirus.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The new model, the iPhone SE, which will hit the market on April 24, is the second generation of the previous cheaper model. The model will be priced at $50 cheaper than the company’s previous cheaper iPhone, the iPhone 8, which started at $449 and will retire at the same time.

With $399, you can get the unlocked model with 64GB. You can also order larger, 128GB and 256GB models for $449 and $549, respectively.

The SE comes with a 4.7-inch screen LCD which Apple calls it Retina, but its not as good as the OLED screen on today flagship models, and looks identical to the iPhone 8. SE lacks 5G technology and a face detection system to unlock the device, and instead has a fingerprint sensor similar to older models. The most important technological feature in this new iPhone is the chip system. Apple has placed in the same chip that has iPhone 11 Pro lines. It’s an eight-core A13 Bionic processor and integrated GPU.

The front-facing camera system does not have TrueDepth technology for FaceID. The rear camera has a single sensor but it is equipped with the best software tools to increase its quality. Portrait Mode, Smart HDR, automatic white light balance are some of them.

In terms of connectivity there is a Lightning connector. Charged with Qi wireless technology and has fast charging technology. Comes with Wi-Fi 6, two rear cards, e-SIM technology and fast LTE and has IP67 rating which is really incredible for a phone at this price range.

The iPhone SE comes with the latest version of iOS, that of iOS 13.

Apple will start selling the new online model at a time when its stores around the world remain closed, except in China. The company will start accepting orders for this phone on Friday, while the distribution of equipment is expected to start on April 24.

RedMagic 5G is the world’s first gaming phone with a 144Hz display

This refresh rate is standard today for gaming monitors

In 2020 you can’t be a flagship smartphone unless you have a high-refresh screen and a new standard has already been set. RedMagic, a subsidiary of ZTE Nubia, launched the latest gaming phone and has a 144Hz display.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

What about other key specs of RedMagic 5G?

This refresh rate is standard today for gaming monitors. The screen has a size of 6.65-inch 1080p OLED. Powered by the most potent processor on the market today, the Snapdragon 865, comes with 5G technology, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The specifications of the smartphone are complemented by Android 10 from the box, 4,500 mAh battery and 55W charge. Normally no one would buy a gaming smartphone to take pictures but RedMagic has three rear cameras where the main one is the 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor. It even has a 3.5mm headphone port and stereo speakers.

Being a gaming phone, the air conditioning system is among the most advanced you can find today on a smartphone. In addition to liquid cooling, there is also a fan that draws hot air to the bottom of the phone. During an intense game it becomes noisy.

The phone has buttons at the top that can be configured to perform various functions. Along with RedMagic, the company sells the phone along with commands and joystick. At the back there are colorful LED lights because it is a gaming phone. The 144Hz screen is super sweet visually.

RedMagic 5G Price and Availability

The RedMagic 5G costs $579 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of memory and $649 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of memory. It will also be sold in Europe starting April 21.

Instagram redesigns IGTV with creators as the focus

The Discover option may be the biggest update

Instagram is updating their IGTV app, likely in hopes of getting more people to use the service and promote creators who make long videos.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The company indicated yesterday that the homepage has been completely redesigned to display a top-up creator, tailored to each user based on who they follow, and whose app content they think might be interesting to them. The app is also getting a Discover option to discover new and important IGTV content as well as a hands-free mode to record video.

The Discover option may be the biggest update, given that the app currently only displays videos from people already following users, as well as “popular” videos. IGTV is not widely used and requires people to log in to start watching. An ‘Discover’ option can make them see content faster and encourage them to actually use the app.

The company also releases a small but likely influential update to the Instagram app; users can post their IGTV content on their Stories, with the ability to play 15 seconds of content. This can make people click and watch the full video, giving the creators more attention.

All of these updates can make the app more attractive, at least in terms of creating videos and finding new content, but it’s not clear how many people actually enter the standalone app versus finding IGTV videos through themselves.

The company declined to provide user numbers. (If it’s an indication, the Instagram app on Android and iOS has over 10 million reviews on both the App Store and Google Play. The IGTV app has just over 1,000 reviews on the App Store and about 25,000 on Google Play.) Still, no it’s surprising to see Instagram shift its focus even further to creators; as the company was recruiting talent from its Los Angeles office, encouraging them to use IGTV.

These updates seem to suggest that Instagram thinks people have trouble finding video, and that may be what is contributing to the low-numerical calculation on the platform. The company already allows people to post their IGTV videos on their feed, and thus popularize it on People’s Feeds, for similar reasons.

Instagram says it thinks IGTV is the “future of video”, so providing people who can actually find content to watch, as well as creators who like to keep them coming back, is essential to make it successful.

OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Officially Revealed: Price, Specs and other Details

Starting $699

OnePlus yesterday held its official launch event for the new models of its phones, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The specs of these new phone models have been published in advance online, so there were no surprises in terms of the innovations that these models will bring.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

We are already used to OnePlus and the fact that every year they releases one of the most interesting Android series on the market. The presentation during the first years was to offer as many elite options at the lowest possible prices. But it seems that OnePlus is no longer shy and openly is showing its ambitions.

OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro Specs

OnePlus 8

The OnePlus 8 is a more upgraded version of last year’s 7T while the 8 Pro is the bet where the company hopes more without sparing anything at last. OnePlus 8 comes with Snapdragon 865, up to 12 GB RAM, 6.55-inch AMOLED FHD+ display limited at 90Hz refresh rate that has HDR support, 4300 mAh battery and Android-based OxygenOS. Both the standard and the Pro model this time comes with 5G connectivity support.

As for the design, it has a curved glass screen and an “punch-hole” notch that we are already used seeing in may devices. Is also offered in a new color by the company, the Interstellar Glow, and you still get Onyx Black and Glacial Green from the company.

OnePlus 8 Official Photo
OnePlus 8

As related to the camera department, it packs three cameras on the back, 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, and an 8MP sensor. At the front is included a 16 MP “punch-hole” selfie camera.

Included in the box, of course is an Warp Charge 30T for 30W wired fast charging, that has becoming a necessity these days but unfortunately it lacks of wireless charging technology and has not an IP68 rating unlike the Pro model.

OnePlus 8 Pro

The premium flagship, OnePlus 8 Pro in addition to the above brings a beauty called Fluid AMOLED 6.78-inch 120Hz QHD+ display, runs on the high-end Snapdragon 865 processor, more interesting camera, larger battery and finally wireless charging this time 30Wat. The more expensive version comes with 12 GB of LPDRR5 RAM, just like the S20, and up to 256GB UFS3.0 of internal memory.

OnePlus 8 Pro
OnePlus 8 Pro

As for the camera department it carries an quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48MP primary camera, 48MP ultra-wide camera, 3X telephoto camera, and a color filter sensor. There’s a hybrid stabilization system that uses OIS and EIS and three microphones for high-quality audio. At the front, like the OnePlus 8, its the same 16 MP “hole-punch” located at the left corner of the display.

OnePlus 8 Pro packs a 4,510 mAh battery, which is 10% bigger than the battery capacity of OnePlus 7T Pro, supports 30W Warp Charge 30T wired charging and 30W Warp Charge 30 Wireless charging with reverse charging support. The phone will ship with Android 10 out of the box and will be available in Ultramarine Blue, Onyx Black, and Glacial Green color options.

As for the connectivity, both phones support dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-FI 6, NFC, and USB-C connectivity. Unfortunately there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on either phone, and you won’t be able to expand storage with an SD card. OnePlus 8 is IP68 water and dust resistance rating and this is another advantage of the Pro model.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro Prices and Availability

The OnePlus 8 starts at $699 for 8GB/128GB going up to 12GB/256GB for $799. The OnlePlu 8 Pro starts at $899 for the first configuration and goes up to $999 for the second.

The sales starts on April 29th via OnePlus and this time even via Amazon.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Leaks

Samsung Galaxy S21 details, 150MP camera, new processor and many other interesting details leaked

The successor to the Galaxy S20 will be called the Galaxy S21 and not the Galaxy S30, as reported by some media

The Galaxy S20 may still be a newcomer to the market, but that doesn’t mean the work isn’t actively developing on its successor, the Galaxy S21, which will get a launch date in the first quarter of 2021.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

So what do we know so far?

Not that much; but we have some information about the camera of the Galaxy S21 and the processor of this new much-rumored premium phone model from Samsung. We’ll get to know more over the coming weeks and months, though leaks are becoming more common.

It is further stated that Samsung Display is now working on the development and production of under-screen (USC) camera panels. The first USC from Samsung Display is rumored to debut with the Galaxy Note 20 later this year, but more conservative predictions claim that it will be saved for the release of the Galaxy S21 in 2021.

Samsung is also believed to be working on a new 150MP rear camera from Nonacell that plans to come with the Galaxy S21.

What’s more, the Snapdragon 865 is the processor of choice for new premium models on Android with high performance. In 2021, or very late in 2020, Qualcomm will use an update to this platform called Snapdragon 875.

Like the 865, it will support 5G and offer powerful support for advanced video games and graphics, as well as 150MP cameras that are expected to come with new models along the way in 2021.

Galaxy A Series

Samsung unveiled new models from the Galaxy A budget line

6 new phones starting from $110

Samsung wants to sell you a Galaxy phone and doesn’t care how much you are willing to pay for one. Two foldable phones and three Galaxy S20 models cost between $1,000 and $2,000.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

If these phones are inaccessible to you, then try one of the six older Galaxy S10 and Note10. They sell for $600 to $1,000. But if you want to pay even less, less than $600, Samsung introduced 6 new phones that start at $110.

Samsung’s new Galaxy line features: A01, A11, A21, A51, A51 5G and A71 5G. Each model has different specifications according to the price but all come with Android and microSd cards for more memory.

Galaxy A01 & A11 ($110 – $180)

At a price of $110, the A01 is the less expensive. It has a 5.7-inch HD 720p display with a “notch” selfie camera. On the back you get a dual camera a main and a depth sensor for portrait photos.

The 3,000 mAh battery can hold in function the phone all day but does not have a fingerprint sensor. With it, you only get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, so don’t expect to encounter intense apps and games.

If you’re looking for a bigger screen, the A11 is priced at $180. The 6.4-inch screen has a resolution of 720p and instead of a “notch” the phone has a “hole-punch” selfie camera. There’s even a 5-megapixel “ultra-wide” sensor on the rear. The battery is larger than 4,000 mAh and has 32GB of memory. But you are left with 2GB of RAM however there is a fingerprint sensor.

Galaxy A21 and A51 ($250 – $400)

The A21 costs $250 and has a 6.50-inch HD 720p display with a 13-megapixel “hole-punch” selfie camera. The rear camera has four lenses: 16-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, a depth sensor for portrait photos and a macro sensor. The battery, memory and fingerprint scanner remain the same but take advantage of fast charging technology. RAM is 3GB.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The A51 costs $400 and has a 6.5-inch Full HD 1080p display. The phone has a similar system of four A21 cameras but the main sensor is 48-megapixel. The fingerprint sensor is located under the screen just like many Samsung flagships and you get 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with this phone.

Galaxy A51 5G and A71 ($500 – $600)

Samsung has decided to sell another version of the A51 but with a 5G modem in it providing you with faster internet access whenever it becomes available. RAM and battery have higher capacities like 6GB and 4,500 mAh respectively.

In this market that seems to be overcrowded, TCL will enter with three models that cost around 400 euros, while the specifics are quite pleasing.

The introduction of these smartphones was planned to take place at the Mobile World Congress in February, but after this activity was canceled then, TCL disclosed some of the details.

The most expensive smartphone is the TCL 10 Pro which costs 412 euros, which has a 6.47 inch AMOLED screen, while the frames are very thin.

The rear camera has 64 megapixels, while the front camera has 24 megapixels and the fingerprint sensor is integrated. Inside is the Snapdragon 675 processor, as well as the 4,500mAh battery.

With 367 euros you can buy the TCL 10 5G, which comes with the 5G processor, or exactly the Snapdragon 765. It should be noted that the 5G network is not available in all areas, but work is underway to develop it as much as possible. Therefore, all those who do not plan to update the phone for a while, it is better to take this model.

The 10 5G’s dimensions are slightly larger, as it comes with a 6.53-inch screen, with a 16-megapixel camera on the front, and a 64-megapixel rear camera. As with the 10 Pro, the battery is rated at 4,500mAh and can be used as a battery to charge any other device.

While the cheapest is the TCL 10L which costs 367 euros, which may be among the cheapest smartphones on the market, while the specifics are not weak.

Inside this smartphone is the 4,000mAh battery, while the rear and front camera have the same capacity as the other more expensive models. So far, it has not been announced when the launch of these smartphones will begin.

This is the first time that TCL, known for producing TVs, is using screens to produce other devices.
