The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan really looks sharp
Volkswagen has unveiled an updated version of the Tiguan SUV. The 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan really looks sharp. In the US, Tiguan will come in four different flavors: S, SE, SE R-Line, and SEL R-Line.
In terms of style, the Tiguan S base has standard 17-inch wheels, while the SE has 18-inch wheels, the SE R-Line 19-inch wheels – and some black trim, and the SEL R-Line has 20-inch wheels.
But most of the noticeable changes in the Tiguan of 2022 are in the cabin. This car has a new multifunction steering wheel as well as a space in the center that houses a screen.
In the US, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan will be offered with a four-cylinder engine 2.0, with turbocharged injection, which produces 184 horsepower. This configuration and output is identical to the Tiguan 2020. Power is sent either to the front or to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
In Europe, a Volkswagen Tiguan R 2021 will be available with 315 horsepower, but, like the recently unveiled Arteon R, it will not be in America. A hybrid plug-in variant will go on sale in Europe producing a 241 horsepower.
We will learn more details about these models from Volkswagen Tiguan in the coming months when we are close to their release.
