How to communicate during disasters when internet connection and phone signal are not working?
A small company in Chile, heavily affected by earthquakes, proposes a phone application using high-frequency encrypted radio waves.
“Imagine a person without internet access, without a telephone signal, who does not know where to go after an earthquake. It’s what happened to me when I was living in Vina del Mar with my four-year-old son, “says Barbarita Lara, creator of the application “S!E”.
In 2010, an 8.8-magnitude earthquake Righter associated with a tsunami destroyed Chile’s center, causing the deaths of 500 people.
The principle of this application is based on the use of high-frequency radio waves that enable users to receive information on their smartphone and information on collection points and disaster recovery centers.
