Lenovo and AMD revealed a monster computer with a monster processor

AMD used the debut of the ThinkStation P620 to introduce the 3995WX processor which is the first Threadripper to have the Pro brand. The Workstation is based on the BXB-B chip and provides support for PCI3 Gen 4 and 128 PCIe lines.

The Threadripper pro line has a host of features that focus primarily on security. These are Memory Guard, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0. The 3995WX model is the flagship of the Pro line. It has 2.7Ghz and 4.2Gz turbo frequency, 288MB cache and 280-watt TDP.

Lenovo says this is the only Workstation PCIe 4.0 and presents it as an option for those who want to save on P720 computers with two physical processors.

In terms of memory, this computer can be equipped with 4TB SSD and 7,200rpm HDD up to 16TB.  Graphics rely on two Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000 cards or four Quadro RTX 4000 cards allowing the use of several monitors simultaneously. Even in connectivity, this computer does not lag like four USB 3.2 Type-A Gen 2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two PS/2 ports, one 10Gbps Ethernet port.

There is no detail left other than the price. The ThinkStation P620 starts at $4,599 when it will go on sale in September.

Vivo Iqoo has released a video showing how fast at 120-watt a smartphone can be charged. The handset in the video has a battery with a capacity of 4,000 mAh.

In just 5 minutes, the cell phone charges 50 percent. The battery charges to 80 percent in 10 minutes and charges completely in about 15 minutes.

Twitter suffers the biggest cyber attack in history

On Wednesday Twitter said that hackers have targeted the company employees by gaining access to internal tools and system by compromising some of the most popular Twitter accounts.

The company said it was a coordinated social engineering attack that had successfully targeted some of the employees. The company statement contradicts a Motherboard report which says that the hack was made possible thanks to the help of one of the Twitter employees.

The media claims are based on an interview with one of the hackers. The attack began on Wednesday when the high-profile accounts like Joe Biden and Kim Kardashian began posting links to a bitcoin account. Users were asked to send money and promised to get back twice as much. The hackers are believed to have generated $118,000 in revenue from the scheme.

Billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates were also among the many prominent figures in the US who have been targeted by hackers on Twitter in a Bitcoin fraud scheme, writes the BBC. The official accounts of Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kanye West also were targeted, asking for donations in cryptocurrencies.

“Everyone is asking me to give them something. “You send $1,000, and I return $2,000,” reads a post from Bill Gates’s account.

Above all, the hacking revealed that Twitter employees have quite a bit of control over user accounts questioning their security. Employees’ internal tools that were hacked were for closing accounts and changing emails.

Twitter said it had taken the necessary steps to restrict access to internal systems. In 2017 a similar situation led to the closure of US President Donald Trump’s account for 11 minutes. And in 2019 the US Department of Justice requested the arrest of two Twitter employees for spying on behalf of Saudi Arabia.

Intel has promised something big on September 2 where it will most likely launch the 11th generation of processors. It is about Tiger Lake processors which will be based on the 11-nanometer architecture.

They will follow the existing 10-nanometer+ processors which have debuted with the Ice Lake generation and must compete with the AMD Ryzen 4000 series which have a tear-jerking advantage with the 7-nanometer architecture.

Another reason why it is an important moment for Intel is the Xe graphics which have challenged the Nvidia MX350 itself, an impressive result for integrated graphics. Tiger Lake chips will bring more processing power and graphics with 25W power consumption.

Ghost of Tsushima launch trailer gets published early

The Ghost of Tsushima launch trailer has already been released online, three before the game launch, on Friday, July 17th

The trailer is still classified as unlisted on YouTube but has been widely circulated on social media. Surprisingly, it has not yet been released by Sony or the PlayStation, but there is no doubt that the trailer is the official one. The clip ends with an ‘available now’, which further reinforces the idea that it came out prematurely.

Shortly afterward SuckerPunch posted an updated version of the trailer on Twitter. It is exactly the same, except that the phrase “available now” has been fixed with a reminder to pre-order.

As expected the trailer is very interesting. This is the longest dialogue we have seen so far from the game and the other clips illustrate quite well what we can expect from this samurai adventure.

Samsung reveals the first details of 6G networks

Samsung Electronics expects that the 6G communication to be commercialized in 2028 and to enter mass use in 2030. The company said that ITU-R, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) sector responsible for radiocommunications, will start operating on 6G from next year.

The process of developing technical standards for each generation from 2G to 5G has been significantly reduced. It took 15 years to develop 3G, while with 6G this process will be significantly accelerated.

Although we are still in the early stages of commercializing 5G, Samsung executives believe it is not too early to launch the work on 6G. Samsung predicts speeds up to 1Tbps (1000Gbps), transmission delays of 100 microseconds, 50 times more capacity than 5G. The use of artificial intelligence paves the way for the need for a reliable 6G in the face of security and privacy threats.

Hyper Scape

Although Ubisoft had made an announcement at the time when the Battle Royale genre had a huge rise that it would not participate in this competition, but today they apparently changed their minds about it. A few days ago Ubisoft introduced Hyper Scape in beta, a Battle Royale game which will be free-to-play. This game was set in the future, in 2054. During the game, players can find hacks (ability) which enables players to have endless bullets, create a shield, or be teleported.

Also, this game will offer a variety of weapons and their combinations which can be improved through hacks. Hyper Scape is already in open beta for all players anywhere in the world. There is still no date for the beta release but developers have expressed that they will be following the beta carefully and do not want to perform hasty actions.

Watch Dogs: Legion

This time Ubisoft has decided that this game will take place in London where an authoritarian regime has been established which monitors everyone at every step and every violation of the law is punished. One of the main features of this game is that you can recruit any person you see on the streets of London and play that person starting from ordinary people, people who are part of this regime, killers, spies and even the elderly.

During the cinematic trailer presented we could watch the gameplay of the game and also different ways of performing a mission through different characters using a drone expert who uses a mini robot or a simple builder who can accomplish the mission using his tools. Watch Dogs: Legion will be launched on October 29 this year.

Far Cry 6

Far Cry has always come differently and has never left us without surprises. This time the game will take place in a dictatorial state called Yara led by a cruel dictator. Always in the trailers of the Far Cry series is presented the antagonist where in this game will be the leader Anton Castillo. According to the press, Castillo is trying to restore his state to its former fame by instructing his son Diego to follow in his footsteps and putting in control anyone who does not follow his vision. In the trailer we see Castillo explaining to his son that his power and people are like a grenade letting him hold in his hands a real grenade.

During this game, players will be able to play like Dani Rojas where the player can decide if it will be female or male. Dani will be part of the revolution and he will also be accompanied by Chorizo, a wiener dog, a feature introduced at Far Cry 5. Yara will also have plenty of places to explore starting from Esperanza’s urban environment, the jungle, and up to the beaches. Far Cry 6 will be launched on February 18, 2021.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

In its 12th series, Assassins Creed Valhalla this time comes at a time when the Vikings are invading the Anglo-Saxon kingdom. This video was leaked earlier on Reddit and apparently Ubisoft has confirmed this leak. The main character of this series will be Eivor an invading Viking who is involved in the conflict between the Templar Order and the Brotherhood of Assassins. Eivor can be played as a female or as a male, depending on the player’s preference. During this series players will have the opportunity to form various alliances or conquer, go hunting or explore seas and places never explored.

Players will be able to choose different skills and during gameplay we can see a variety of different weapons which you can combine with skills. Something else that I will not miss this game will be the action with the environment. Players can participate in drinking games or various activities which are related to their cultures. During the gameplay there is also a notice which says that the game is still in progress and that it can change. Assassins Creed Valhalla will launch on November 17th.

Elite Squad

In addition to games on PC or consoles, Ubisoft will also come on mobile and this time with the Elite Squad game. This game will be a free-to-play RPG where you will include characters from the Tom Clancy universe like Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, and The Division. Players will be divided into 5v5 teams and where they will have to use different strategies to win. This game will also include a campaign mode that will introduce a new story. Elite Squad will be released for Android and iOS on August 27th.

Brawlhalla

After the great success of this fighting game, Ubisoft has decided to expand it to other platforms. This time she will expand this game to mobile. The player will have the opportunity to change controls according to preference, making it easier to interact with the game. It will also be possible to face players from other platforms. A release date for this game on Android and iOS has not been announced yet but we believe it will be at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.

This leak reveals a mythological battle of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Ahead of the show that Ubisoft would hold to make up for the lack of E3 this weekend, footage of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay has become a leak. After 30 minutes of gameplay revealed this week, someone has found seven minutes of Eivor gameplay in a boss battle against a kind of “demon goddess“.

It is interesting to see Ubisoft exploring old British myths. It is likely to be Cordelia, the mythological daughter of King Lear of Britain. You can recognize this duality of characters from Shakespeare’s drama, King Lir.

With Ubisoft still trying to keep information about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla limited, there is a possibility that the video will be deleted and reposted by someone else. Just search on YouTube if this happens.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be launched later this year at Uplay and Epic Games Store. We’ll probably hear a concrete launch date and some good quality gameplay footage during the Ubisoft Forward broadcast this Sunday.

Most of the new 5G smartphones debuted this year have the Snapdragon 865 processor, but that’s already a thing of the past. Qualcomm has introduced a new mobile chip, the Snapdragon 865 Plus.

It’s a bit faster than the previous generation, and despite the modest improvements, you can expect smartphone manufacturers to adopt it for 5G phones. What differentiates the Snapdragon 865 Plus is the new Kryo 585 processor core which has a maximum frequency of 3.1Ghz. In other words, it is 10% higher than the Snapdragon 865.

Snapdragon 865 Plus has new graphics known as Adreno 650, 10% faster than Adreno 640 graphics. Finally, the new processor comes with Wi-Fi speeds up to 3.6Gbps.

Its architecture remains unchanged. It has 8 processor cores and a 5G X55 modem. Last year the Snapdragon 855 Plus model appeared mainly on gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone II and Nubia Red Magic 3.

This year’s processor that brings 5G technology has been criticized for raising the price of smartphones to $1,000. The Snapdragon 865 Plus risks sending costs even higher.

And now it went one step further.

Facebook launched Marketplace as an alternative to Craiglist and other classified ads services. It shouldn’t be a surprise that this service was used by small businesses, too, to reach their potential clients. So, Facebook took things one step further, launching Facebook Shops earlier this year.

What is Facebook Shops?

In business, one of the keys to success is to go where your customers are. With almost a third of the world’s population active on Facebook, it is an obvious choice. Businesses big and small from around the world are using Facebook to keep in touch with their customers and fans – and now, small businesses will have a brand new tool to not only exchange messages with their buyers but sell their merchandise, thanks to Facebook Shops.

Facebook Shops is, in essence, a storefront integrated into Facebook where small businesses can list their products for sale. All the operations behind the scenes can be handled by the merchants’ existing platform – Shopify, and WooCommerce, for example, can integrate with Facebook Shops easily. Through Shops, small sellers will be able to put their products out there in front of millions of potential customers while managing their back-office operations through the same platform they used to, communicate easily through Messenger, WhatsApp, and InstagramDirect.

Trying times

Across the world, many small businesses that relied almost exclusively on their real-life presence are struggling due to the ongoing pandemic. Taking their business online is the only solution for many – and this happens in increasing numbers as we speak.  “If you can’t physically open your store or restaurant, you can still take orders online and ship them to people,” Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a live stream, cited by The Verge. “We’re seeing a lot of small businesses that never had online businesses get online for the first time.”

By helping more local businesses online, Facebook doesn’t only help them in these trying times but creates new opportunities for itself, too. The shops themselves are free to create but, of course, they’ll need promotion – businesses will be able to promote their products directly through Facebook Ads, present their products, and process payments through Facebook (which will likely involve a fee as well).

Facebook Shops started rolling out across the US this May and will continue to become available in other areas and countries later in the year.
