Huawei’s Foldable Phone Finally Has a Debut Date

Mate X is a phone with a Kirin 980 processor and 5G Balong 5000 modem. The phone has a massive 4,500 mAh battery and can be charged at 85% in an half hour through 55W charging.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

When opened the screen has an 8-inch diagonal size, closed a 6.6-inch front screen and an 6.38-inch rear screen.

Unlike the Galaxy Fold that opens like a book, the Mate X‘s screen folds out. As a result it’s a more conventional phone than the Galaxy Fold but the plastic-coated screen will question its longevity.

The phone will go on sale from November 15 for $2,400 for the 8GB RAM and 512GB of memory. Currently the phone will be sold only in China while a global launch is being reviewed.

Huawei said it has sold 200 million smartphones since the beginning of the year to date, reaching the target 64 days before it did last year.

5 Technology Trends That Will Change Our Lives in 2020

5 Technology Trends That Will Change Our Lives in 2020

This year has driven a new wave of technology innovation from the rise of social robots to personal assistants. Communication robots have also grown significantly in use and not only but have been well received by consumers.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

But we’re heading towards the end of 2019, and that lets us talk and ask about what 2020 has reserved for us.

What are the top 5 technology trends that will change our lives in 2020?

What technology changes will change our way of living and working in 2020?

#1. Mobile commerce

Mobile commerce is already getting into our lives. People are spending more time and money buying from their phones but what will make a difference is paying for products through Apple Pay or Google Wallet.

If you want to experience for a moment what the future looks like with these two services, just go to a big Chinese city and get a plane to travel. Using Alipay and WeChat to buy and pay for almost everything has made life easier for the citizens of this country. But what will cause problems is the battery life of smartphones.

#2. 5G Technology

Perhaps you are one of those who have started using 5G technology and benefited from the benefits of super fast internet from a mobile phone. You can expect more about it in the future. While there has been some concern about the effects of 5G on our bodies, the benefits have been numerous. Increasing internet speed, self-driving cars, smart cities and smart drones are the revolutions that will follow with this technology.

#3. Artificial Intelligence as a Service

Combining the SaaS business model with IA services can bring IA to the masses without a high cost. While IA advancements in some areas are moving at high rates, in others ore not.

Google, Amazon, and Microsoft have begun offering artificial intelligence-based solutions and in some cases providing services such as graphics processing intensive tasks.

#4. Decline of applications

Finding and downloading an app can turn out to be a huge problem to be solved by companies in the face of the investments they have made and the competitive nature of the app stores.

Most people believe that offering applications from the cloud or abandoning them in favor of Progressive Web applications can be a more useful and cost effective solution.

#5. The collapse of cryptocurrencies

No list of technology changes can be completed without mentioning cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Regardless of which side you lean on, whether you think Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme or not, no one cannot deny that Bitcoin is dominating the world of cryptocurrencies.

Many cryptocurrencies have risen and fallen, but Bitcoin dominates with 69% of the market. A recent price hike has led to the question of whether Bitcoin is digital gold but remains to be seen in Bitcoin and blockchain will change our way of life as they promise.

Tests shows that "Dark Mode" makes a difference to the iPhone battery with OLED screens

Tests shows that “Dark Mode” makes a difference to the iPhone battery with OLED screens

Dark Mode is one of the key features of iOS 13 but can it really increase battery life? If it’s an OLED model, the answer is a strong “YES” according to PhoneBuff testing.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

The PhoneBuff team used robotic devices to perform tests on two iPhone XS models, one with dark mode enabled and one not. Testing included watching videos on YouTube, using Twitter, navigating Google Maps and chatting on the Messenger app.

At the end of the test the iPhone XS without dark mode enabled was dead, while the other dark mode still had 30% battery life. This result should be enough to make you use dark mode especially if you use the phone intensely.

Keep in mind that these are not official tests. Also the phones were at 200nits brightness and you can get different results according to the screen brightness levels. Also testing included applications with dark mode. The latter gives a much higher impact on OLED models than LCDs since OLED pixels turn off individually when the view is black.

A new report says OnePlus will replace the “pop-up” selfie camera used on the OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro with a hole-punch camera on the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

Images compiled from the information available on OnLeaks show that a fourth sensor will be added to the rear adjacent to the triple camera system, a 3D ToF sensor.

In addition to the published images, OnLeaks along with 91Mobile say the phone will have a 6.65-inch 90Hz curved screen, slightly smaller than the 6.67-inch 7T Pro.

In addition to the loss of the pop-up camera, the report suggests that the phone will not undergo major changes.

While the non-Pro OnePlus 8 will have a smaller 6.5-inch screen and lack the 3D ToF sensor. Although we are months away from the debut of phones, OnLeaks’ reporting and information have been historically accurate.

Galaxy S10’s Ultrasonic Scanner Can be “Defeated” From a $3.5 Screen Protector

Samsung has started the work on the next revolutionary Galaxy S11 phone, but the company is already facing a major problem that millions of Galaxy S10 and Note 10 users need to know.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

A massive security problem has been detected in the Galaxy S10 fingerprint sensor. Hackers already have a way of avoiding the ultra-sonic scanner and unlock the smartphone.

The solution costs only $3 and a half and can blur the fingerprint scanner. It can even be used to gain access to credit cards and banking applications. Just a screen protector bought on eBay is enough and anyone can access your Galaxy S10 phone even if you have the scanner turned on.

Lisa, 34, after using the screen protector, she continued using the phone as usual but later realized that her husband could access the phone to using his fingerprint.

Samsung has only stated that authorized screen protectors should be used with the Galaxy S10. However criminals who want to access your phone already know what tools they need.

Interestingly, the ultrasonic scanner is seen as one of the most reliable fingerprint readers under the screen in the world. Samsung may address this problem with an update but if it fails then there is a real problem in its hands.

League of Legends is coming to mobile platforms

League of Legends is coming to mobile platforms

One of the most famous computer games in the world will finally come to other platforms. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Riot Games said that a new version of League of Legends called Wild Rift will come on mobile devices and some consoles.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″ tdc_css=””]

The game is similar to the original version of League of Legends with a nearly identical style of play. But it’s tailored to accommodate new platforms with new maps and shorter 15-20 minute matches.

Riot says Wild Rift is not a copy of LoL but a creation from scratch based on the LOL experience.

A mobile version of the League, launched in 2009, has been speculated for years. Other titles for PCs have seen a lot of success after switching to mobile platforms but that didn’t convince Riot.

Wild Rift’s mobile version will debut in 2020 and registrations are open today via Google Play.

Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL officially Revealed

Google Pixel 4 and 4 XL officially Revealed

Google phones are finally official. The company just unveiled Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL at the hardware event held in New York. As has probably been noticed over the last couple of weeks and months, Google not only did a handy job of keeping things secret, but often confirmed or released products/features itself.

[td_block_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]

With the last night’s event in New York called “Made by Google ’19”, the Android manufacturer is jumping into the ring to fight out the competition.

Pixel 4 comes in three colors: white, black and an limited edition orange. Available today to order and will be sold from October 24th. Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL start at $799 and $899 respectively.

Pixel 4 XL has a 6.3-inch Quad HD display, while the Pixel 4 has a 5.7-inch 1080p. Both screens have a refresh rate of 90Hz which is automatically reduced to 60Hz under certain conditions to improve battery life.

Beyond the screen size and battery capacity, the two new Pixels offer identical hardware. They are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with 64GB and 128GB of memory and 6GB of RAM.

At the top of the screen, Google has included a number of sensors that enable two new features: One is Face Lock – Google’s response to Apple Face ID – and the other is called “Motion Sense.” With the second Pixel 4 can be gestured without touching the phone at all. The information is processed locally on the device, says Google.

For this year’s model, the camera system has added a third telephoto lens in addition to the standard one. The telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom. The new Pixels come shortly after Apple has managed to capture Google in camera performance with some believing that iPhone 11 offers superior photographic quality.

Even in the Android world companies like Huawei have reduced the gap with Google in the camera department. Google has added new tricks by upgrading the Night Sight mode. Live HDR+ provides real-time view of the photo you are capturing. Finally Pixel 4 has a new voice recording app combined with Google’s voice recognition technology.
