According to rumors these days, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang has said that Nvidia is not in hurry to introduce the next generation of Ampere graphics cards, given the good position and high popularity of current Turing models in the market battle with AMD. This particularly refers to high-end models – the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti – currently elusive for AMD Radeon models.
According to reports, AMD has decided to turn the situation to its advantage and is preparing the “Nvidia killer” based on RDNA2 architecture which will have integrated RayTracing hardware and be ready to battle the models GeForce RTX early next year. Nvidia, on the other hand, is ready for such a challenge and is preparing the Ampere GPU generation as a concrete response to these AMD threats.
The Ampere architecture will be used by the GeForce RTX 3000 gaming graphics series, which should be presented at the Computex 2020 fair. According to Nvidia team practice, the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 models are expected to be followed by the RTX 3080 Ti , while you will find cheaper Ampere derivatives in the form of RTX 3060 and 3050 models a few months after their release.
GeForce RTX 3000 Ampere graphics cards will have better Ray Tracing performance, improved rendering capabilities, lower average power consumption, more video memory, higher operating frequencies, while expected that RTX 3080/3080 Ti to be cheaper than existing RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti models.
