Lexus unveiled its first electric car: Lexus 300e UX

Lexus UX 300e made its debut at the auto show in Guangzhou, China, and the Chinese market will be the first to receive this model. In addition to China, the UX 300e will be sold in Japan as well as in Europe.

Lexus 300e UX, with an electric motor drives the front axle and delivers 150 kW (204 HP) on the road. The Japanese manufacturer has made minor changes to improve the car’s aerodynamics, so UX 300e is 20mm lower than the regular petrol version, and the car is fitted with special, more aerodynamic wheels.

The Crossover bodywork has also been redesigned to reduce air resistance to movement and increase driving autonomy.

Instead of gasoline, a 204-horsepower electric motor is mounted on this car. Electricity is stored on 54.3 kWh lithium-ion batteries, which provide 400km of autonomy, measured against the old cycle, NEDC, while the results of a more realistic WLTP test are yet to be expected. 

With empty batteries, it takes about 50 minutes to fully recharge on a 50 kW fast charger, while the charging process on a 6.6-kilowatt outlet takes about 7 hours. The batteries are located under the rear seats, leaving the luggage compartment unchanged from the regular Lexus UX.

Using a smartphone app, Lexus drivers can read the battery level and view information about the nearest charging stations. Additionally, can be done automatic climate control, heated seats and windows, all of which can be adjusted by the app.

As Lexus has already confirmed, the UX 300e will be available in Europe next year. What the price of the electric car will be, it’s still unclear.

Manhart brings the newest creation – MHX3 600

The renowned German car modification company, Manhart, now also has its own dedicated X3 M competition version of BMW.

Its newest Manhart design bears the name “Manhart MHX3 600“.

Manhart in this program for the X3 M Competition, among other things, includes boosting the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine to 621 horsepower.

Also included in the program are the sports exhaust system, new wheel set, stronger braking system, modified shock absorbers, and some gold details.

As for the interior, Manhart has chosen Alcantara leather as well as some carbon fiber parts.

Manhart will also offer similar software for the BMW X4 M Competition.

2020 Audi RS Q8 debuts with the same top speed as Lamborghini Urus

Only a few months after the launch of the SQ8, Audi Sport unveiled the new super sporty RS Q8 version.

Named the ‘king’ of Nurburgring’s fastest SUV, having finished the fastest, with 7:42.235, this RS version is the company’s fastest and most powerful SUV in the Q range.

Like the new models revealed recently, the RS6 Avant and the RS7 Sportback, the RS Q8 uses a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo petrol engine in combination with a semi-hybrid system producing 592 horsepower.

Among SUVs, is a leader in the form of the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, which has raised the level of luxury for a car to a much higher level than any other model.

It is also the first SUV to be called the Maybach, with advanced technology and much greater comfort than current models. So far, we have only seen the front of this car, and it has now been fully showcased at Guangzhou Auto China.

Powered by a 48-volt engine, this 4.0-liter engine produces 550 horsepower, enabling it to travel from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds, while limiting its top speed to 200 kilometers per hour.

Not a bad thing for a 2.5-meter SUV, which has massage chairs and an audio system that blocks any noise coming from the outside. Although these specifications do not seem to surpass those of the Bentley Bentayga, the level of luxury in this car is very high and can hardly be compared to any other.

The modern design of the exterior and interior, with very sharp lines that have careful finishes, make this SUV look like a limousine. Those interested in a Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 should know that this car is not cheap, and is expected to cost around €180,500.

Audi e-tron Sportback

Audi unveiled the new electric SUV in the Sportback version

Audi e-tron Sportback essentially represents the standard Coupe version of the e-tron, implying that, among other things, the only difference is the front. The rear has less seat space and 60 liters less luggage capacity than the standard Audi e-tron. The luggage capacity is about 615 to 1,655 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Like the standard e-tron, the e-tron Sportback SUV comes with the MLB platform and is 4.9 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.6 meters high. There are also 19-inch wheels with 255/55 R19 tires.

The e-Tron Sportback SUV also comes with a 12.3-inch digital panel, “Digital Matrix LED” headlamps, and the optional rear-view cameras.

As for the market, the Audi e-tron Sportback in Europe will be offered in two versions – the e-tron Sportback 50 Quattro with a capacity of 230 kW/313 horsepower, a battery of 71 kWh and autonomy of up to 347 kilometers; as well as the e-tron Sportback 55 Quattro with 265 kW/408 horsepower, 95 kWh battery and autonomy of up to 446 km.

With a fast charger, the battery can charge up to 80 percent of capacity in about half an hour.

e-tron Sportback is also expected to launch in early spring next year, where the limited edition “Edition One” with the “S Line” package and 21-inch aluminum wheels will be available.

In terms of price, in Germany the new e-tron Sportback SUV starts at €71.350 for the base version with 313 horsepower.

Samsung unveils a new foldable smartphone: Samsung W20 5G – details revealed

The first foldable smartphone from Samsung’s home, the Galaxy Fold, had a poor start with sales. The devices had to be retired after some hardware problems.

However, Samsung has not stopped, and they have now introduced a new version of foldable smartphones. Samsung W20 5G was unveiled in China and is initially aimed at the domestic market.

The device has an OLED display and has a Snapdragon 855+ installed. The RAM is 12 GB, the internal memory 512GB while the battery has shrunk slightly to a 4235 mAh capacity.

Externally there is still a 4.6-inch display, if you roll out the W20 5G, the interior results in a 7.3-inch bent OLED panel with a resolution of 2152×1536 pixels.

Also, the camera setup remains the same: Three rear camera lenses with a 12 Megapixel main camera, a 16 Megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 12 Megapixel telephoto lens.

Whether the Samsung W20 5G will ever come to Europe is uncertain. Initially, it will be available exclusively in China. Sales start is set for December, but the price has not been announced yet.

Ferrari revealed the super-sports car Roma GT with 612 horsepower

Ferrari has unveiled a brand new model called Roma, which is the fifth car this company will reveal this year.

Described by Ferrari’s chief marketing officer Enrico Galliera as “elegant and futuristic”, Roma is offered as a two or four-seater, making it unique in its range of Ferrari cars.

Roma is defined by the style inspired by the 50s and 60s, specifically in the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso. Ferrari Roma has a 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 612 horsepower.

Ferrari claims that Roma reaches speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 322 km/h. The car is expected to go on sale next summer at a starting price of 222,000 euros.

Motorola Razr

Meet Razr, the Motorola’s folding phone with the design of 90s

The Lenovo-owned brand, Motorola unveiled a new version of the Razr phone. It has a touch screen on the inside, no keyboard but folds in half into a shell design of the 90’s and early 2000’s.

The phone will go on sale in the US in January for $1,499 while orders start on December 26th. Razr is the latest example of the trend of phones with folding screens. Comes after Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X and Xiaomi Mi Flex.

The goal is to create a phone that even acts as a tablet when you open it but Motorola has chosen a different approach. It looks like a normal phone when opened and small enough to fit in a pocket when folded.

Locked Razr has a 2.7-inch display which shows basic things like text messages, emails, incoming calls, mobile payments, music controls and camera. Can even call Google with the command “Ok Google” when it’s closed. The unlocked phone has a 6.2-inch screen. Motorola says the screen is protected using a shaft with no space in between.

But for $1,500 you should expect more power. Motorola has integrated a Snapdragon 710 chip instead of the flagship model Snapdragon 855. It has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, on a device that is 205gr in weight.

The foldable Moto RAZR features a 6.2-inch POLED display, foldable with 2142 x 876 pixels HD resolution and 21: 9 Cinemavision display ratio. The 2.7-inch external GOLED display with a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio will serve as a notification screen.

To power everything is a 2,510mAh battery  with 15W TurboPower and Android 9 Pie. There are two cameras in the phone: a main, 16MP and a 5MP selfie.

The new Range Rover Sentinel model, a luxury bulletproof SUV that was first launched in 2015, is helping to grow the market for armored cars.

There are currently about 200 or 300 thousand armored cars around the world, but market watchers expect that figure to continue to rise.

According to an LA Times report, the armored vehicle business has become increasingly profitable, with many manufacturers predicting year-on-year growth.

The 2020 Range Rover Sentinel is armored to withstand a bomb and AK-47 or AR-15 firearms.

“People are worried by acts of violence. Lawyers, doctors, business people are worried about their family members being in the wrong place at the wrong time, ”said Mark Burton of the ArmorMax weapons company.

Building an armored car is a tricky issue. Although the vehicle may look normal, wearing bulletproof tiles brings a cost and added weight that requires other engineering techniques.

The new Sentinel model weighs more than twice that of a Range Rover. To carry all that weight, the new Sentinel comes with a powerful V8 engine. Also, the new Sentinel comes equipped with a tailgate, via the luggage compartment, in case the doors of the cars may be locked.

Range Rover has not yet revealed the price of its newest Sentinel, but the 2015 model started at $445,000 (about €404,000).

McLaren Launches the 1.66m Euro Supercar, called Elva

While Senna is made for racing, Elva is designed for public roads but with high performance.

McLaren Elva has no ceiling or side glass, but just two doors to easily access it while is being made of carbon fiber as well as inside with water-resistant leather.

McLaren Elva has a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 804 horsepower and has seven semi-automatic gear and rear wheels active.

As a result, Elva reaches speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 6.7 seconds.

McLaren will produce only 399 series of Elva‘s, each costing 1.66 million euros.
